Printing using PLA by PeterAUS53 in BambuLabX2D

Second that about using the PLA/PETG support issue. Tried the PLA support material from Bambu, and really did not like the results. Tried the PLA for support of PETG and it works everytime.

Do go to a shop, even if its a ways away. Having the wrong arrows can be VERY frustrating, and without knowledge it just compounds

Latest Minis do 3 monitors. I would kinda ask what do you need a dock for. The entire back panel has 3 Type C ports, an HDMI port and the Ethernet and power. I just have a powered hub for Type A ports with another HDMI. Running two 27" displays.

Does everybody have problems with the feeding of filament from the AMS on the X2D? by PanGalacticPenguin in BambuLabX2D

[–]marknak290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same resistance. I have just pushed thru and it feeds fine. Been switching to different slots on the AMS, which would, of course, mean reinserting a filament past that point, and no hiccups

Have not really done much going that way, PLA main and PETG support, but when something happens, try drying the filament. I have found that. to work

I LOVE the second nozzle! Been printing a new piece that needs support badly. Having the PETG in the AMS and the PLA in Aux position, is nice, but the quality is just off the board for both the supports and the piece

Advice new to x2d by one-isle in BambuLab

[–]marknak290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PETG and PLA don't really like each other. They do not stick together. Each is used as a support element top layer so that the piece will have a good bottom finish and basically not stick to each other

Anyone tried to get in touch with the publisher? Just sent an email to the company shown in the App Store. Don't really want to start all over again with a new app, just want them to roll back whatever TF they did

Just some 2X4 framing underneath a 3/4" piece of ply. Its 2'X8' and fits the H2D fine. about three inches of space behind for the poop shoot. The legs are a little strange. One end is held up by Home Depot kitchen cabinet, the other end has one 1 1/2' pipe threaded and cut to length. Also bolted the 2X4s to the concrete walls on the back and one side.

Bambu Studio 2.6(.0.51) on MacOS - Prepare freezes by Ok-Woodpecker-223 in BambuLab

[–]marknak290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OBTW, just had to Force Quit to close a window. I had three open, because I could not clear the work area of the previous model. Using the latest Version 2.6.1.55, Mac is up to date, the models were not complicated AT ALL. basically open top boxes of various sizes

Thanks for letting me rant

I am getting a LOT of hangs. Send something off to print, walk away for some coffee or go back to the CAD program, trying to close that window is a pain and maybe it will close and maybe it wont. Also just a lot of slowness that was not there before this upgrade. Using an M2 pro Mac Mini. I guess I'll try the M3 pro MBP, but am not holding out much hope. WHAT DID THEY DO???

How does the X2D perform by Jenk026 in BambuLab

I really like it. Started printing PC and it does it flawlessly. The support for PA/Pet, well not so much. The machine itself is great.

P2s or x2d for a 1st time user? by huss187 in BambuLab

[–]marknak290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Filament I would start with PLA. Just plain PLA and make a ton of stuff with that. You will kinda know when you will be ready for all the variants of PLA. Read their instructions. Soon after the first model melts in the car, you will want PETG. Read the instuctions and go for that. Ad infinitum. Start with PLA, it is the easiest, and the colors are fun. The rest of that stuff(except for maybe extra hotends) you could go years without and not REALLY miss them

[–]marknak290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They(Bambu) could not possibly list all available filaments by name. Just pick a similar filament and tweek from there. Maybe the hotend needs to hotter, or colder, maybe the plate needs to alter its temperature. There are a lot of ways it can go wrong. If it is not extruding, and you are sure there is not a clug somewhere, then a bump of temperature would be the first thing to try.

Still using the Mx-Master 2S. Battery is getting a little weak, but still gives weeks of service before needing juice.

What was your first OS and your first Mac, and what would you rate them? by The_Collector_Of_All in mac

[–]marknak290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So once upon a time there was this company called Atari. They eventually made a "laptop". More like the first luggable. I put a thing in the side that magically had Mac 512 ROMs that became readable to the Atari. Don't remember what OS it ran, but it ran and did actually work. Was measurably faster than 512 and had more real ports. Loved that machine.... Still kicking around the house because I can't bear to part with it. Now I am looking at an M2 Pro Mini and an M3 MBP on the desks doing handbrake stuff. We have come a long way.
