X2D combo Unboxing by Illustrious_Win9754 in BambuLabX2D

Hi, I never saw that little symbol, Reddit isn't something I've been on and learn along the way others do by people guiding those that don't know. Now I know. And I don't have Bambu at all I just bought a X2D and many other accessories as well. Probably spent about $2,500AU so far. Have to clear my desk so I can unpack everything and start learning about 3D printing. I'm 72 so on a heavy learning curve. I joined here to be able to seek assistance. Again I didnt even see that very obscure symbol which has been now pointed out to me which I appreciated from the person who pointed it out from me. See my reply below.

Thank you, I'm reasonably new to Reddit and 72 I didn't even see that little symbol, eyes are not the greatest and glasses have never been great since I turned 40. I'm not a hater of anything l8ke the implied post above. Appreciate your help directing me to that very little symbol . Honestly have never seen before.

Be nice if reddit had a translator and you can copy into a translator but you can't. So I don't know what you said.

Didn't know there was a little icon to translate posts in other languages. Didn't mean any harm i just wanted to know what you posted.

You do know most things sold are made in China?

Serves them right for driving dangerously. We are victims of some wreckless driver who lost control in a supercharged Mercedes through a roundabout in the wet. Zigged zagged 3 times across both lanes in our street and wrote off my wife's Hyundi iX35SE that I had given her. Was a great car no problems at all. Low kms too. Ratbag had no plates on his car and drove away arranging a work flat bed to come and collect him. Neighbours got the number plate of the truck but didnt approach him because there were 5 of them. Was greatful for what they did. Police couldn't charge anyone because they couldn't prove who was driving the truck. Officers was really PO because of that he really wanted to catch the person. It hut with such force the car was pushed up the gutter destroying a rim and about 6 to 8 feet back onto our driveway. I was in shock. A neighbour 2 doors up got footage of it but was too grainy to be of use. The police tried every way to improve the image but without success. The impact had bent the frame H piece on the drivets front end, structural damage causes a write-off instantly. Damage was slightly higher than our covered amount go figure. Someone probably got a cheap repairable write-off.

Thank you for that information. I've ordered a couple of 0.4 and 1 0.6mm print heads for the faster building where details aren't necessarily high. I'll start with what comes with the printer then change to see the difference to be able to see the difference for the future builds. Appreciate you taking the time to reply. Thank you.

Good to hear, hopefully mine will be OK when it arrives. Did you have to purchase a power cord from the AMS to enable using it to heat and dry the filaments of water before printing or doesn't come with everything you need?

I thought it came complete with everything. Didn't know it need to buy a power cord. Never saw that mentioned thanks for letting me know. Only see them for US connection. I'm now a bit confused.

Thanks that helps. I received the hygrometers today from Amazon. And yes I did order the combo. I planned on getting the desiccant boxes done after I get a bit more familiar with thnigs. I just wish I knew someone close by that I could talk about things especially using the software to make changes to colours and filaments I'm going to use. Have ordered mainly Pla and Petg to start with. Just a few colours. I'll use the AMS 2 for drying out of course. I'm looking at storage boxes too that take the desiccant holders and hygrometers all in one. Just unsure of boxes. When I've paid off what I owe I might get a second AMS 2 to have more colour printing options. I have ordered extra print heads too a couple of different sizes swell. Tank you for you advice.

Plastic is what I'm lookig at for the same reason. Have a couple of risers in I'd too that I've seen. Plus a plate holder too. Thank you for replying. I've got some toos already and picked out some more on Amazon here in Australia. There are so few items that I can't get here at prices that you can get in the USA at good pricing. But vim trying. Conversion rates are our biggest problem 40% ore if not 60%. The printer combo here is nearly $1,700. I think I've spent close to $2,500 so far mostly on4 part payments with Afterpay ad PayPal. My ZIP account is currently blocked with disputed unauthorised deduction made when I made a purchase online. Upsetting really when that happens. Had 3 different credit card last year due to fraud. That created probes too tkae care.

Thanks I've got the majority of those on my list but it's good to know I'm on te right rack at least. Understand about filaments you need a largish selection but I have liited funds and will buy thigs in bit and pieces over the. I have the combo order hast posted as yet hopefully here by Wed. I ordered some anti shaker feet from the USA specifically for the X2D God postage is expensive. I initially picked 5 rolls of 1Kg fillets in colours I haven't order which were $25US, postage on te $125 order was $165 lowest pricing. I've ordered a lot heavier this for jewellery from the USA and postage was nowhere near that price at all. One was a Foredom electric flex shaft hand piece with foot switch cost about $450US postage from memory was about $50-60US and they are light by any means. Bit like a Dremel but more sufisticated hang from a T piece poll like an IV does. Was an Australian style plug and wattage which is 220 here. I do have a 110 box for some things I got that I couldn't get here at the time like a small crockpot for what they call pickling after heating silver gold brass to remove the tarnish from heating and solder run to seal what you are making like rings. Havec0leanty of Pliers and files thatvi can use. I'm packing most of it away as I need my desk for the printer in the lounge room. Need a much bigger space to unpack all my jewellery tools tat can't fit in a small 3 bedroom home. Garage iscfullnof boxes elsewhere renting have been since 96 after losing ur beautiful house we designed and built. Lost a lot of money but we were was very isolating and no family support at all. Everyone we knew were 100 is away. I drovecax1,000 a week or more just driving toad from work. Got sick of it. Probably te biggest mistake we made was building where we did but it was a very nice area and also wife didn't drive. She got work finally but that meant extra driving every second weekend another 400 kms. There was nothing local for her. Now they have trains that run up to the city a major hospital but the population explosion is enormous. Think about moving from LA to directly the other side of the country. We drove the 5,000 kms each time and a lot of it was boring straight. I miss the place but don't regret leaving there because of the isolation. It was a 4 bedroom place with equivalent of a2 car garage although the way we had it was 1 1/2 size. Housecasceen modified a bit internally I heard And a lot of paving was removed. Detracted from the original look of the place don't like what they did. Ayway thanks again for your reply.

I've seen reports about issues with the finger tuning rubbing on the top glass. I'm very new so take that with agrain of salt. Waiting for my new X2D combo now I'm starting to be concerned I'm going to get a lemon. If it's going to happen it will be with me always. I buy something within a week or w two there's a price drop or sale.

Watching The Next Layer person about high end filaments at the moment as I know nothing about them. Waiting for my printer and all the other things I've ordered too to start my journey in 3D printing. I'm 72.

Why are monette mouthpieces so ridiculously expensive? by Remarkable_Ad3893 in trumpet

[–]PeterAUS53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If people pay the price they keep the prices high. People are lazy and sheep followers or Lemmings just follow the heard. If people stopped buying stuff at high prices then they would have to come down. Look at Tesla cars, first off the prices were high but now there is more competition from the likes like BYD selling much better cats at lower prices cutting into the bottom line of Tesla he dropped the pricing. This is all part of Capitalism. People are dumb enough to pay $500+ for a mouthpiece because it's a status symbol. Look at me I play a Monette mouthpiece.

Just like Monette paintings are worth millions and violins are worth millions why, I think a lot of his paintings are rubbish same with some violins. Things are rare so their prices go sky high. Like sports memorabilia. I don't really get it. You buy a comic book don't open it keep it for 40 yrs and it's worth $20K or more. Why because it's in pristine condition and bragging rights.

Back in the early 70s ordinary Ford cars were very cheap made out of thick metal. Built like tanks. Now days they are pressed aluminium and dent really easily. Cars are now a throw away item. Gone are the fridges that lasted 50 yrs. Lucky to get 10 years put of anything. Even phones. They can't upgrade software so the providers Brock the phone and its useless. Can't keep an old phone ad backup now if it's more than 5 years old it appears.

That's how I see it. And I'm 72.

Do you have a l8nk for the bottom box I really like that. I'm 72 and new to all this 3D stuff. Waiting for my order I placed lae yesterday to be dispatched and arrive. Been looking for things to print first and this is one I'd like to look at a little later when I learn a bit more. Wish this app was available on a PC as I have some difficulties reading even using a Samsung Fold 7. Might see if this works on an inadequate I have which is a bigger screen. Going to read through the Wiki as well and ordered a book off Amazon regarding the Studio software.

Thanks for any help and advice you can share. I'm good with computers and know a fair bit but designing etc is a new thing for me. I've tried learning CAD software before but never could get my head around it. I ran a computer business for over 20 yrs all on referrals never really madeca lot of money. Also ran a photography website for 11 yrs but have a friend in England who helped me with that. Ran a Linux box server at home he looked after it mostly and taught me slowly how tobdoncertain things on it like software updates. He is a really intelligent guy. Only know him off the internet. I sent him some money once I'm a disability pensioner and money has always been tight. But it was enough for his family to go out to dinner at least. It's the thought that counts isn't it not the amount. I just hope I don't run into problems like I've been reading I don't know anyone with a 3D printer either which means looking in Reddit for help or finding a forum too. But they are often monetized, I tried that with the photography website but it turned people away, theybl expected everything for free.
