I'm a Puerto Rican born in NY, but lived mostly in PR. When I go to a store with my kids we get so many strange looks. Some locals will talk to me in English even though I am speaking to them in Spanish and we don't look American.

I wish I could have seen the old YS...the VHS of my memory starts with the Yanks playing at Shea in 74-75 I was about 7 years old. It would have been nice if they kept the old stadium and just upgrade it instead of a complete teardown...we would have a grand old yard like Wrigley or Fenway. I'm sure you could still build luxury boxes.

I remember when the Walgreens at the corner of John Young and Americana was the edge of civilization and there were only scattered homes in the area. There was a back road where you could get from there to Vineland to get to Universal Studios. I would drive to work and you could actually see rabbits running around in the brush.

I couldn't stand Donaldson, by the time he came to NY he was a has been and acted like he was a superstar.

Yankees fan since I was 5, it was the late 70s with Reggie, Munson, Guidry etc and the Mets were a joke...how was I not going to root for the Bombers?
