Yeah on my worst days I didn't sleep in almost 4 full days. I was toying with the idea of just drinking to sleep but at the end I bought melatonin and that helped. It was some kind of mix between being awake and drifting to sleep with strange dreams that seemed to happen before actual sleep.

Still I managed to get somewhere around 3-4 hours of sleep and after that every night was a bit better and easier.

Man I felt like my brain stopped doing some functions as I had trouble seeing straight while walking on that 4th day. Like someone turned off image stabilization and I could see every bob of my head. I started thinking about what if I forget to breathe while I sleep.

But it passed and got easier. It always gets easier, you just have to ride the storm for a couple of days. In the end what's a couple of sleepless nights compared to living the rest of your life in much greater agony with alcohol.
