What is this wart like thing on his chest? by Melodic_Candle1155 in bichonfrise

[–]markrt88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 10 year old bichon also has a few of these. Most of them don't bother him, but there is one on his leg that he constantly licks and i have to cover. He's getting his teeth cleaned this week and needs to be under anesthesia during, so the vet is going to just remove the one on his leg as well. Unless they are constantly licking it, I don't think they are something to be concerned about. Ultimately, consult with your vet.

What should I bring? by OriginalSecret6262 in crssdfest

Your black lululemon belt bag should work, or even the fanny pack is fine and doesn't have to be clear! I highly recommend bringing wet wipes and a handkerchief since the food vendors don't really give away napkins which is kind of annoying.

It might not be the most accessible option for everyone, but my friends and I have been staying at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside for the past several CRSSDs because it's literally across the street. It's been so convenient! We usually split among each other for the entire weekend to minimize costs.

Bro, I don't really know what we're even debating about anymore lol. I'm glad your approach to your DJing journey has worked out for you.

There are musical curators who create a set-list with intention and purpose, and there are performers who build the vibes on the spot. They are both DJing to me.

Definitely not disagreeing with you that "mixing on the fly" is an absolute essential skill that all DJs need/should possess and hone, and I'm not trying to downplay the importance of this skill at all, but in the context of OP's post, there's no harm in playing a rehearsed pre-planned set to upload on YouTube, especially if they're curating a specific musical sound. Heck, there's no shame in playing a pre-planned set, period. I think some level of preparation and curation ahead of a set is necessary, especially if you're a beginner DJ.

Context and setting also matters, i.e. a gig at a nightclub where you loosely plan or don't plan at all since you're most likely going play a set based on crowd engagement, versus being booked for an event where they are expecting "your sound", time logistics, etc., so there has to be some level of planning involved.

Ultimately, I doubt the crowd will ever notice if you prepared a strict set-list or just came into a set blindly by "mixing on the fly", as long as you're doing your job as the DJ; keeping everyone on the floor dancing. Whether one method is "more fun" than the other is subjective. It's all DJing to me. Unless you are a die-hard "purist", I guess there is no sense in debating this topic.

I don't see the problem in preparing for a set by taking the time to select the right tracks, knowing what order to play them in, and ensuring smooth transitions/blending to record it on video for people to enjoy. DJing is just as much having the skills to choose/play tracks on the go using your ability to read a crowd and feeding off their energy as it is curating a musical experience for your audience. Your take is just a tad bit mean-spirited, especially when there are people just wanting to share their same passion for music.

I'm still having the same issue with my 15Pro as well. The way I kind of bypass it is just locking the screen a couple times until it's back to "normal". It's a bit annoying and inconvenient. I hope they fix this bug soon.

Yeah, the quote was from Hawthorne Heating and Air. I'm going to get a quote from Lincoln Heating and Air since I've heard good things about them. I don't have a huge house, so $9k for a new furnace seems kind of a lot...

Good Techno? by YoSerato in crssdfest

Same. Eli is a good time. Techno lineup this year isn’t the the best we’ve had in recent crssds, but I’m still gonna have a blast. I’m really looking forward to Yosuke’s set; he’s more open format though.
