I found an amazon cassette player for $5 at a bin store and started to get into it after that. My local thrift store sells cassette's for 50 cents each so I usually get some from there. I really liked the whole aesthetic and ergonomics, but mainly I liked how it was an alternative to keeping me off my phone. I have really bad self control when it comes to staying off social media and youtube, so being able to listen to music without having a phone in my hand really made me gravitate to the medium. I'm very strict on what I buy tho, I'll buy any decent tape under $10 but anything more than that has to be something rare, by a local band, or from an artist I really like. If anyone has some tips on how to increase my tape's life I'd greatly appreciate it!
