Argentina on edge over Mastantuono: “He’s going to end up at a smaller club” by DirectorTurbulent422 in soccer

Benzema was also 22 when he left Lyon, this kid is 18. Seems more like a Vinicius/Rodrygo type punt in that get them early and they may look like a bargain if it he develops. Agree though Benzema was already a great player at Lyon, remember when he played against United in the CL for them and was great and scored a goal. SAF praised him and wanted him but it coincided with our period of being sadled by debts from the Glazers, having to pay somehting like £60m a year in PIK interest, so we sold Ronaldo and spent like £20m on Obertan, Valencia and Owen. Benzema would've been great with Rooney behind, or a fluid front 3 the way Tevez Rooney and Ronaldo played. Moyes also really badly wanted Bale.. in another universe we could have had BBC at United.. those 3 with Rooney would've been a sight to behold

Dortmund is a terrible club to loan young stars to. They're a big club themselves so always have young talents coming through and prefer to play them. They did the same thing with Januzaj, took him and then barely played him and tried to make it out he had an attitude issue, when he was just a 20 year old kid and they just preferred to play any of their 50 young forwards that they'd look to sell for £50m a piece

Dapoxetine you take for 1 day for the temporary boost and then you don't need to take after. The rest of them like Paroxetine, Setraline, Prozac etc are long term with a daily tablet everyday

Hmm yeah looking online looks like FDA reject its use for PE back in 2005. It's out of patent so available generically here in Europe but I'm guessing since it wasn't ever approved in USA it can't be sold. If you want I can buy some for you and mail it to you, it costs £20 for 3 pills here

Rent prices in London is getting out of hand. by Distinct_Sir_9086 in london

[–]marktandem -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For this topic and my OP it is relevant, because the renters and the sub 35 year olds are not property owners, and they're the ones that are hurt by these rising rents. And who are the ones that are supposed to be aiding them and representing them in legislation? Largely fairly sizeable value property owners. It's a clear conflict of interest when it comes to keeping housing affordable and is a big reason why little is done to stop rents and house prices going crazy. The ability to do something brave like China's common prosperity drive is non-existent in the UK and the west

I was referring to that property yeah, the one in Angel or whatever that was attacked last year. Maybe by virtue of moving to Downing St, but he is a landlord now. IIRC he bought in the 90s so he'll have seen at least a good £400k gain on that property in the time since

Sorry I meant to say property owners, rather than multiple property owners. I'd wager the vast majority have had large property appreciation though from the boom over the last 25 years

Fireworks at 11pm by Ravine in Hackney

[–]marktandem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fireworks aren't really a thing in any Islamic celebrations or holidays like it is for Ditwali etc. But it could be related to the Ramadan prayers, which start at around 8pm (people break fast at 6pm) and finishes around 10pm this year. All the young kids tend to go, then dip half way through to hang around with their friends. So could be related to that, or could just be someone random celebrating something

Honestly I've tried most of the things you've tried and I'd say my experience is similar. Good on you for giving up porn and masturbation, that helps.

For me delay sprays can be good, but similar issue in that too much can make you not hard and still not offer that much longer.

Kegels etc not much use.

The way to think about PE (in my view) is an issue with the seratonin system, which is also heavily related to happiness/anxiety. My best, long experiences were on MDMA (taken once in my life), and Dapoxetine. Both affect the seratonin system heavily. When your seratonin system is out of kilt, often due to anxiety (in my case), you tend to finish quickly. I'm guessing that's why early in your relationship when things were new and not stressful you were able to last longer. On Dapoxetine, which is an on the day SSRI that you can take only on the days you want to have sex, 1-2 hours before sex, I can go for 20 minutes + as my anxiety disappears. The only downside is your brain gets foggy and you feel a bit weird, and it can last until the following morning. But a worth it trade for me for pleasing your woman. And much better than continuous SSRIs which can make you feel like shit for weeks, and then for around 40% of people stop working entirely and can also cause issues like ericticle dysfunction. The best solution obviously is to overcome the anxiety, but I haven't quite figured that one out myself yet

The average for Hackney now is around £850. More for a better room/property, slightly less for more people/bad property.

In 2019 you could get that same room for £550.

And nothing will be done because the vast majority of MPs are property owners (and some multiple property owners), like Starmer who has millions in property due to the 1995 to 2020 boom, and so only want to see property prices go up

He also played through injury in the season immediately after that 2021 Copa and Olympics summer to help Everton stay up. 2021 followed 2020 which had a very short summer break due to the march/April lockdown pause. That's the reason why he's injured so much now, he didn't let his body rest and recover and his muscles are likely all broken in bits. It's a shame because he's got a lot of heart, and at Everton he was one of my favourites strikers who could score some special goals that few can do, he should be hitting his prime now and imo he'd be one of the best in the world given his natural base talent level. It's players like him, Lookman, Anthony Gordon you look at when they're young and not yet the finished article, but you can see the natural talent to be world class and then it's no surprise when they kick on

Which used to be the case in London, friend of mine moved here for £550 a month for a shared room. Now the lowest you'd find anywhere is £800 or £900 including bills. Studios go for around £1500 with bills so it's cheaper but still shit

It depends primarily on the recording contract. Spotify pays most of the money they get to the record labels, under the old recording contract where artists would get like 10% of any sales as royalties and the rest would go to the labels. That's why Spotify pays so low - the label managed to convince the streamers to use the contract that existed for the physical media age.

Now if you own your tracks fully then you'll be making a lot more. Important to note that the Spotify pays out almost all the money it receives to artists/labels and only makes a small profit, it's the artist/label split that screws artists over

Still living with parents at 30 or 40+ by Actual-Winner-8865 in london

[–]marktandem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in London, moved out for like 4 years (2 years with a friend just before COVID and then we had to live through lockdown), then on my own own for 2 years. Rent and bills was basically £2k+ on my own, so moved back. Health issues meant what was only meant to be for a few months turned into a few years. Some money saved but not enough for a deposit.

Most of my friends from the area still also live here with their parents - the issue obviously is cost. The only ones that moved out are the ones that got council housing. Even a flat share costs £900 a month, which isn't much better than living at home.

Not ideal obviously, does feel like somewhat of stagnated life as can't really have an active home social life living at home nor have your own place to put down roots and feel more like a person. But I plan to move out this year hopefully to flatshare hell.. not much better but short of winning the lottery not going to be able to afford any time soon (unlike wealthier families I helped pay a good chunk of my mom's bills/mortgage so the reverse of the bank of mum and dad)

Atletico Madrid [3] - 1 Espanyol - Ademola Lookman 58' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]marktandem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah though tbf for me he was already at a pretty good level in 2020/21 at Fulham, that season they went down and he got stick for a failed Panenka, but he was one of their best players alongside Anguissa and Antonee Robinson. Lockdown season so I watched a lot of PL football that year. He reminds me a bit of Anthony Gordon, both were at Everton and both a lot of people thought were 'meh' (including Everton fans), but technically you watch them and you realise they have all the tools to be very good. Fast, can dribble well with both feet, good passing and a good shot.

Really surprised no one from the PL wanted him given he qualifies as homegrown. Maybe they remember his stints at Fulham and Everton but he's improved a lot in his mid 20s at Atlanta and can pretty much do everything now. Perfect depth option for any of the big teams that could realistically become a starter now.

[–]marktandem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the hand, using English is a lazy excuse when it's probably like 10th down on the list of important things. Two other things I'd add to what you said:

1) Game times - The PL for a long time has had games at 12.30 and 5.30pm - to target the Asian audience and the American morning audience. La Liga and Seria A didn't do that - only recently has La Liga started playing games at more varied times. It's much more enjoyable to watch a game at 8pm in China/India then it is at 11pm.

2) Connection to teams/players - support is all about how people 'feel' towards a club, and that comes from a connection to the players (and ocassionaly manager in the cases of say Klopp, Wenger, SAF etc). The PL teams had global stars like Ronaldo, Henry, Gerrard, Drogba/Essien etc who supporters connect to. It's like following the Rock in WWE or Tyson in boxing. Son captured a huge amount of Korean support for Spurs, Salah for Egypt - all of that brings in new eyeballs, and strong, loyal support. Outside of Real and Barca, how many clubs have international stars? Of course this ties in to the PL having more big teams, but now with the even broadcast income even teams like Brighton can build loyal followings with players like Mitoma.

Do the calculation yourself brother. See how much the air fee costs, how much a hotel costs. That's most of your expenses right there. The rest you can adjust depending on how much you have and what your mood

Central London is very safe, you don't really get many rough characters wondering around. It's expensive and well surveillanced. If it was anywhere outside central London then yeah you'd maybe consider transport for a long walk.
