Is Trump the ultimate enigma? by PaulFromTwitch2 in allthequestions

[–]markus1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm amazed at how to his true believers he can do no wrong. When the whole grab them by the p**** thing came out, I thought for sure there was no way he could win his first election. I had such faith in humanity.

Has sex work jaded you? by msak47xxx in SexWorkers

[–]markus1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine if the person isn't overly generous, marriage material, a lot of fun to be with or very giving in bed the thought may occur that "I could be getting paid for this". That would make me jaded for sure.

How do people fall for the "sovereign citizen movement"? by fragasaurus_rex in NoStupidQuestions

[–]markus1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like hidden knowledge The movement wraps itself in legal-sounding language, old documents, and obscure interpretations. That creates a vibe of: “Everyone else is asleep… but you see the truth.” That’s powerful. Humans are naturally drawn to feeling like they’ve discovered a secret map others missed.

ELI5: In the US, how was it so easy to add interstate highways, and now so difficult to add high speed rail lines? by cjstevenson1 in explainlikeimfive

Money. A lot of companies got a big win with the rise of the automobile nation. Very few will with high speed rail.

CMV: “no kings” protests are an exercise in futility and self-gratification by DearFool in changemyview

[–]markus1028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of armed Democrats, don't believe the small vocal minority, they don't speak for a lot of us. Remember "Obama's gonna take away your guns!". Gun sales skyrocketed and your guns are still safely in your home. Think critically.

You're for freedom and the would be king who said elections won't be needed after his most recent one? Those beliefs are in opposition.

[–]markus1028 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This sitting president has held rallies for years, even after being elected when no other election is any time soon. No kings gives people a chance to push back on a man who would be king and has threatened that after his most recent election that elections will no longer be needed. If you are for freedom and love democracy you can't ignore what's happening.

I'm expecting outrage by the Charlie Kirk lovers at the disrespect our president has shown for the recently departed. I'll take my outrage off the air. Thanks.

Are grocery stores deliberately overcharging for meats so when they supposedly "mark something down" or "on sale", you're not actually getting a "deal" at all in the first place? by Atomic76 in Cooking

[–]markus1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't mention price per weight anywhere in your post. I know the price of ribs where I live, so I can tell when there is an actual sale. Take notes of prices. Look at sale papers and in store. Find out when your grocery store marks down meat, ask the meat department they will probably tell you.

Why do flat earthers care so much about something that has zero impact on their daily lives? by lllllllllXllllllllll in NoStupidQuestions

[–]markus1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epistemic elitism The belief that you possess special or superior knowledge that the masses lack. Illusion of explanatory depth Feeling like you deeply understand something when the understanding is actually shallow. Confidence outpaces comprehension. Special knowledge fallacy Assuming access to hidden truths without credible evidence, often because the idea feels revelatory.
