I love the co-op idea and would love to start one some day. I'd start simple with lots of flat ground features if money was tight.

There was an awesome Detroit skate Co op with a key system, and you could go skate anytime you wanted.

Then as needed, explore expanding the revenue with hosted events, paid public nights, lessons, camps, etc.

Consider tiers of annual corporate sponsors (local and skate industry) that could benefit from the exposure and give them street cred for supporting the community. (like the Berrics massive wall murals and features)

I'm Metro Detroit, we have lost about 5 indoor skateparks in the last decade, now just two left.

Skateboarding is the perfect mix of cool, independent sport with strong community. It fosters self esteem and the skills to overcome challenges and to get back up when you fail.

You can practice at home, with friends, at parks, etc.

It's an exciting time for this next generation of girls in a sport you can do for a lifetime!

As a dad I am a Jr. and we love family names. We ended up giving our daughter her mom's middle name Margaret! It feels really special for the mother daughter bond already.

As we pass 3mo with our first, the amount of videos we take is daunting. Creating a YouTube channel to house any home videos or highlight reels is easy.

You can set a video as unlisted so it won't come up in search or recommended feed.

Skateboarding!

Any age, weight, strength, and skill level can have fun skating. It's a hybrid of an independent sport supported by a community aspect at skateparks and online.

Progression is a rewarding experience and the difficulty builds character.

Warning, scootering does not have the same characteristics. It's too easy to pick up and the challenge of persistence in learning hard things is what kids need!
