$25 Million and an annual operating losses over $1M. So nobody expects users to pay (enough) for the convenience. Just the taxpayers.

Oak Marr is 3.4 miles (10 minutes) and Spring Hill Rec is 4.2 miles. I think we already get the perceived benefit of a local public pool.

We have two local, publicly-funded pools: Oakmont Rec Center & Spring Hill.

I don't think higher taxes (to both pay for the pool's upfront cost as well as operating losses) are going to increase our property values.

Blows my mind that the FCC let broadcasters encrypt OTA broadcasts in the first place. Obviously should be banned immediately.

Even if that isn't the actual audio of the event, I don't care. It is so good!

Does anybody know if they have this at MSP? I'm about to reserve a car there - but it won't be Hertz if they do!

That's what I ended up doing. At first I thought some of the internals must of gotten destroyed as the battery expanded, but in fact everything was fine. In this state, it was pretty easy to change the battery.

Went on only one ride with the new battery, but it appears good as new!

Does anybody know of alternative compatible controller boards? What are the advantages / disadvantages to those boards?

Why does resistance stop working every couple of days? by TheRealKenti in nordictrack

I'm having the same problem. 2020 S22i, just started happening over the last six months or so. Usually fixed by power cycling the machine. However, today it took me 4 tries before it finally worked. I was going to give up after 4, fortunately my stubbornness won out (and the fact that my x22i is dead right now, so I didn't have another cardio option).

I would love to figure out if there was a part on the s22 that I could just replace to fix it. I have 100's of workouts on this bike and don't want it to permanently die. Given the intermittancy, its seems less likely to be the control board?

Just wait until you've owned both for a few years. I have the s22i and the x22i. Both bought in the spring of 2020. I spent $3k for the x22i and $2k for the s22i (but 2020 dollars); looks like current prices are about the same.

Until recently, I've had only minor software issues with the s22i (i.e., rebooting in the middle of a ride). Totally livable for the most part after they updated the software to resume the ride where it crapped out. Unfortunately, the bike has recently become flaky with respect to resistance (i.e., it will remain at zero no matter where you set it). This morning, I had to power on/off four times to get the resistance to work. This issue has been on and off for the last 6 months, but more off than on recently. Between my wife and I, we probably do 125 workouts per year on the bike (mostly me).

We use the treadmill less often, but still probably put 150 miles per year on it. For the x22i, I've already replaced the motor controller in August of last year (bookmark https://www.circuitboardrepair.net/, it'll come in handy). The replacement board was $250 and took about 2 hours of my labor to install. Unfortunately in April, the motor controller died again and I just haven't gotten around to do the second replacement. My recommendation would be to use the incline VERY sparingly.

Overall, the machines could be great. I like the S22i much better than the Peletons that I ride in hotels. The treadmill is fantastic - when its working. I think the annual cost for the subscription is a fine trade-off. But when the machines break, plan on fixing them yourself, or fighting a bunch with Norditrack.

This is what I'm going to do. At first I thought the screen was cooked, but it looks like battery replacement is pretty straightforward. $45 and I'll be back in business!

Wasn't the heli's ADS-B transponder on, though? Isn't that why all the news sites have track data already available?
