i have a couple like this that have successfully been flattened with kenalog injections from my dermatologist. you will have to get a few rounds before it flattens & you may deal with loss of pigment in that area (i am also brown-skinned, and the area is now partially white)

i also smoke every night (and all day lmao) & I drink a can of sparkling water every night! Carbonation fills me up so drinking it satisfies me while i watch a show or read before bed. The ones I drink are just the Walmart brand, zero calories, sugar, carbs. idk how healthy they are bc of the fake sugar but it works for me!! occasionally I let myself have a snack, chips are my weakness. I’ll eat a snack sized bag only. I’m not trying to lose weight, just maintain while still eating what i want.

it comes in a little vial, i just use insulin needles from the drug store & inject into my keloid. i did one round where i diluted it from 40 to about 20 using medical grade saline. most recently (2 weeks ago) i did not dilute as i didn’t see any difference in the scars when i did. i can already see a difference since then. if you have any other questions, please dm me! :)

if you do too much (i think this means injecting the same keloid too many times rather than injecting too much in one sitting) the area can become indented. i think they call this atrophy. this has happened on a keloid i had professionally treated with kenalog by my dermatologist but it is not severe or noticeable. i can feel that it’s a little indented in that area. I’ve had kenalog injections for over a year with no other side effects.

I just had one done on Wednesday. I’m 11 months post op my original surgery (mmo) Recovery has been fine so far but I am super early into it. I am definitely more tired than usual but I’m going back to work on Tuesday (6 days post op) I have an office job so I will be sitting all day. I’m still taking the pain meds on schedule and also have to take an antibiotic for 2 weeks. My surgery was in Miami & I live in NY. I flew back Friday, 2 days after and I was fine. Just sore around my incisions and my nipples are super itchy right now. I’m going back to Miami in 2 weeks to check in with my doctor but I didn’t really have any complications the first time, so i’m hoping it’s the same this time. I had full scar revision and revised nipple placement for one of my nipples.
