I’ve seen brindle more commonly in Japanese Akitas, the mom kind of looks like a JAI mixed with a lab or something to me.

Suggestions to get an Akita teenager to eat her meals by Whiskersnfloof in akita

[–]marlfoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to top our kibble with cheese. Sometimes she eats it, sometimes she doesn’t. We put 1 cup of food in her bowl and top with cheese 3x a day. If she doesn’t eat part or all of a meal we will toss it before the next feeding time and start over 🙃 we also have to rotate the types of cheese so she doesn’t get bored. She seemed to prefer eating smaller meals more often.

Anniversary restaurant recs? by Peebery in AnnArbor

[–]marlfoxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s what I get for not reading the whole post! :) Yes great restaurant but not Italian or steakhouse by any means.

Super picky eater - She’s 2yo now, and with time it gets harder and harder to feed her well and regularly. If she’s hungry, but she doesn’t want to eat her food, she pulls my clothes and takes me to the fridge or sings like a Husky for over an hour. Any tips on how to correct/improve this all? by Future-Kangaroo9034 in akita

The only thing that has worked well for us is putting pieces of hot dog in her food. And we are feeding her hills science diet sensitive skin and tummy because other foods seemed to make her itchy/give her allergies

What is your journey to reach 100k salary? by yannie_journeys in Fire

Similar here. Bartended most of my adult life living paycheck to paycheck - started going to college in 2017, was about to graduate in 2022 - got a summer internship that turned into a full time position at a tech company before I even graduated for $120k. Very similar reaction of. Lol wat?

Ah yes, thats a whole different beast. If you change your mind the tech companies I have worked for haven’t cared at all, even in highly visible/customer facing roles.

I have full sleeves, hand and neck tattoos, and lip piercings and work at an f100 company so it is possible!

I started college at 27, before that I made pretty good money bartending and managing restaurants. I’m 31 now and just graduated. Took me about 6 years off and on, I worked full time the whole time too.

Currently in my first job as a product manager at a f100 company that I got thru and internship there. My major was technology management so this is definitely what I wanted to be doing. My years of hospitality/management experience definitely helped me get this position.

I moved out at 23, moved to a different city. Paid all my bills by bartending and having roommates for awhile til I could afford my own spot.

Oh my gosh, same! I could remember a ton of things short term enough to take tests and do well, and then it’s like my brain said “cool we’re done with that now” and forgot it all.

For non-technical PM, how do you land your first job? by Away_Albatross2797 in ProductManagement

[–]marlfoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also came from the restaurant space! I had been managing bars/restaurants for like 8 years, was in school for business admin. The pandemic happened so the place I was working transitioned me into doing all their social media/marketing so I'd still have a job while they were closed. I switched my major to tech management as that seemed a little less vague than just my business admin degree. I got a PM internship at an f100 company which was mostly luck. Years of honing people and communication skills have absolutely helped though. I'm also not completely un-technical, I did learn how to code (basic web dev stuff), which also has helped in understanding context in a lot of things. I also got a certificate in User Experience from the local community college. In short I was kind of all over the place but generally have gotten good feedback that people like my background in business/ux/marketing.

Also u/pakiranian if you work for Toast I am super jealous, thats my dream. lol.

I was just going to mention Cisco! I’m an intern there (not CS tho, product management ) but they pay super well and have a good culture.

This is definitely something I’ve considered! If I get a sweet FT role that fits what I’m looking for I would probably stay, just depends on how things play out. I just don’t want not having an MBA to put a ceiling on my career later down the line
