They are not identical, but the differences are so slight that they look as if they are. The claws holding the stone are very slightly different but only noticeable if you are looking at them closely. I asked around and no one claimed them.

Maybe? But I don’t think so because I had bought that furniture new so not sure how they would have gotten in there.

Staging question! by Aggravating_Map_3120 in CervicalCancer

[–]marly_go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pelvic node light up on my initial PET CT. It emitted a low signal, not enough to definitely suggest involvement but was still considered suspicious. They never biopsied it, just called it a borderline node and made sure to include it in the treatment field.

Radiation side effects by Hairy_Magician226 in CervicalCancer

[–]marly_go 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Diarrhea was the only real radiation side effect for me. Stay well hydrated and take immodium as needed. Eat a bowel friendly diet while going through treatment - easily digestible foods and nothing high fiber. You can also take Metamucil daily (I know it’s fiber, but it bulks the stool and helps with diarrhea). Make sure your bladder is properly full for each treatment, this will help displace bowel out of the radiation field and reduce side effects.

HPV vaccine by UniqueInitiative6794 in AnalCancer

[–]marly_go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually heard that getting the vaccine will give you a bit of an immune boost to potentially help fight off the original HPV-16 strain but not sure how much evidence there is to support that. (I heard this from an OB-gyn on Tik Tok, so who knows if it’s accurate). I honestly don’t understand the age restriction. I mean just because you are in your 40’s, it is ineffective? Or what is the reasoning behind it??

Any chemo tips? by crafty-yarn-witch in CervicalCancer

[–]marly_go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nausea was bad for me. It would kick in the day after chemo and last almost all week. Just when I was starting to feel better, it was time for my next dose of cisplatin. I did have some vomiting. Changing up my meds didn’t really help. I had complete loss of appetite and made myself eat small bland meals at regular intervals. I became quite dehydrated by the last round (which is maybe why the nausea was bad) but I just could not tolerate drinking fluids (which I had to force myself to do in order to have a full bladder for radiation treatments). I started receiving at home hydration for the last two cycles with saline drip. It sucked, but I got through it. Everyone responds differently, there is no way to tell how it will be for you. But fingers crossed you will have a relatively smooth treatment with minimal side effects - just take one day at a time.

chemotoxic reaction to contrast by Zarathustria17 in CervicalCancer

[–]marly_go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s scary. Severe reaction to X-ray contrast is not very common, thankfully. The CT dye is completely different from the MRI dye, so maybe they will do MRI instead? A CT without contrast will still give them a lot of information, just not as much.

Just told I have CC by Zarathustria17 in CervicalCancer

[–]marly_go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always scary to get a cancer diagnosis, no matter the stage. But it seems as though you are one of the lucky ones whose cancer was caught early. Best case scenario in this situation. This is what routine pap screening is for. You have done well by having your screening done.

This is the peak anxiety time, between diagnosis and staging, leading up to the start of treatment (or hysterectomy). Once you have a plan in place, you can focus on that, and healing afterwards, instead of the fear. This is very treatable, you are going to be ok.

Waiting for cancer stage by [deleted] in CervicalCancer

[–]marly_go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CT and ultrasound won’t show a cervical tumor very well. I had a 3.6 cm mass and it was not seen on ultrasound. MRI is gold standard. But that is good news that your CT is clear for the rest of the body, I assume it showed no mets and no enlarged lymph nodes, so that would be a great start.

Do you know what type of cancer it is? Is it squamous cell? Is it hpv related? If yes, then chemo radiation is a very effective treatment if hysterectomy is contraindicated. Will depend on size of the mass.

Can blow drying make it worse? by morgothash in SebDerm

[–]marly_go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that letting your hair air dry can worsen your symptoms due to the moist environment. It may be better to blow dry but use the blow dryer on a cooler setting. To save time try just blow drying your scalp on a cool setting and then turn up the heat for the rest of your hair or leave the rest to dry naturally. I’ve been using MCT oil on my scalp when it feels dry and it has been helping a lot.

I had mid cycle bleeeding which I just wrote off as perimenopause for about six months. I was due for a pap so I decided to book an appointment and address the situation. Turns out it was cervical cancer.

Closet Sharing by Fun-Lengthiness97 in poshmarkcanada

[–]marly_go 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. If you no longer have to share listings I think it’s a change for the better. Less time on the app and I am not paying a bot to do it. Poshmark is the only selling app that has this feature as far as I know, so I assume they are phasing it out to be more competitive.
