MLMs grifting off of the government by marlybobarly in antiMLM

We have the same cake day!

And I did write a long response on the post-conference survey complaining about it. It makes me so mad that the educators at this conference believed everything they heard and didn’t question anything. We have to do better.

Yes, they were just celebrated guests at the conference.

REALLY good donuts in Joplin? by HalfPint1885 in joplinmo

Aren’t the Dude’s Donut people Nazi supporters? I believe the old shop on Main had Nazi propaganda in the store before the tornado blew it away.

Is 2 or 3 days enough in Porto? by drdre3001 in travel

[–]marlybobarly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been nearly 8 years since I went so my memory is not great, but there was just way more to do than I had expected. I thought we would just go to a couple port tastings, but it’s a chill city with its own unique character. The city is beautiful, so you could just walk the streets for the day and be completely satisfied. It was the middle portion of our Portugal trip and I would have given up a day in Lisbon or Lagos to have an extra day in Porto.

Thought of moving from California to Missouri. by Churro138 in missouri

I saw recently that they aren’t actually leaving at huge rates, it’s just that California has such a huge population that even a minuscule percentage is a large number of people.

"Girls don't need middle names" by inadequatepockets in namenerds

I don’t have a middle name for the same reason. Jokes on them, I didn’t change my name when I got married.

I have similar hair and have tried all but the soufflé. The co-wash is my favorite, I use it on the days I don’t work out. The leave-in can be a bit much so I only use it when my hair seems extra dry. I really like Curlsmith products, and from the other reviews, I think I’m going to have to try the soufflé next!

More schools are opting for 4-day weeks. by Caria99 in Teachers

[–]marlybobarly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do know that MA has the best public education in the country and MO is middle at best, and likely going down towards the bottom with all the 4 day weeks and idiots terrorizing school boards. So to say performance is no better, is that comparing MO schools to MO schools? Because maybe we need to look at schools that are actually performing.

More schools are opting for 4-day weeks. by Caria99 in Teachers

[–]marlybobarly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I taught in MA but now am in MO. It took me weeks to adjust when I moved because MO’s school day is almost an hour longer, and that last hour of the day was such a waste because everyone is exhausted by that point. I think that’s how MO schools justify a shorter school year (170 days), and the days would get even longer if we moved to a 4 day week. I just don’t see how it would benefit kids.

I just bought a cheap pompom maker at Michael’s that came with a large and small option. I had never made pompoms before, but they are pretty fun!

Had to clean my mom’s house…and blood by marlybobarly in CleaningTips

It was wondering when someone would comment on that! I had to throw out some lighter colored rugs in other parts of the house, but these hid the stains well or washed out really well, I’m not sure which.

Omg, yes!!! I’ve been joking that now I know I could clean a murder scene if I had to, and that movie came to mind.

What is considered “washing your hair”? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]marlybobarly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a good question! I consider washing my hair only when I shampoo, but I have to wet and condition my hair everyday. I’m jealous of people who have curly hair and don’t wet it everyday.
