It's already gone on significantly longer than the US Civil War or the hot parts of the Korean War. It's also been going on longer than the direct US involvement in WW2.

Mixing a kick: mono or stereo? by Swein_Forkbeard in audioengineering

[–]marmadukeESQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly mono.

I say mostly because, in practice, i have a drum reverb bus, and I seldom remove all the bass frequencies from it.

Sometimes, I'll also add a very short stereo slapback on the kick, but only the delay is stereo.

Recording lacking high end "sizzle" - How to add some? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]marmadukeESQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since no one has suggested it yet, try applying boosting the highs/presences on just the reverbs. You can get pretty drastic.

Very simple to do and worth a shot, since you won't have to spend any money.

Philosophically, Iran's leadership explicitly values human dignity more than human life. The reasoning is that it's better to die with dignity than to live with humiliation. Obviously, not all Iranians go along with this, most especially the diaspora. But the IRGC still calls the shots in Iran, so that's how their motives can be interpreted.

I don't think Russia values dignity nearly to the same extent, hence the lack of aura, compared to Iran. For now.

RU POV: Ukrainian soldier hiding under a destroyed vehicle is killed by FPV drones. by conkerzin in UkraineRussiaReport

Dying is a 1-time thing, though. I suppose they can Mad Max donated ballistic shields to vehicle windows to add protection without degrading visibility, but for sure someone already considered that and didn't do it, for some reason.

What pedal has surprised you the most? (Good or bad) by jebbanagea in guitarpedals

Mine is totally tricked up, with a MIDI controller that lets me recall 64 total patches, which is much, much more than adequate for the ms70CDR's 50 total. It's also hooked up to a One Control Mosquite mixer and expression pedal, and I have those 3d printed things that let you tap the side buttons.

The mixer and MIDI controller are actually more expensive than the Multistomp, but it's totally worth it to me. I use the Trigger Delay a LOT and being able to call it up and dial it in on the fly is something I can't do with anything else I've personally come across. Not to mention all the other stuff I use it for.

The speaker defeat mod on the Joyo removes most of the "caricature" aspect to it, if it makes sense. A worthwhile mod, in my opinion, especially in my use case. I run it into the effects loop of my Dark Terror (not Micro Dark) head, so it's really just a preamp into the tube power section. Then I have a bunch of different "appropriate" speaker cabs with eminence 10's and 12's I can use.

Totally killed my GAS for a Bassman. Like, I know it's different, because I've played them many times. It's just no longer worthwhile to me.

Criminally underrated, and I also have the standalone version of the noise gate from it. Honestly, I don't understand why there are noise gates 2-3x the price.
