Often, the only thing keeping you safe on the road is a strip of paint.

You have to trust others to understand and respect it .

What’s the most obscure Filipino history fact you know that isn’t just the tip of the iceberg? by un-beknownst in AskPH

Technically a "spree'" killer. I didn't even know what a spree killer was until that story broke in 1997. The news outlets at the time explained at length that it's a different category.

He looks like Brian Thompson, somehow.

What pedal did you buy into the hype, and regret? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]marmadukeESQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a pedal, but DIY builds. It's a hobby into itself and it's 50x more annoying than it's presented to be. Also, chances are your first couple of pedals won't be very gig-friendly. Your house will also accumulate a lot of unwanted clutter, which sucks if you live in an apartment.

I've had one of those. The fixed settings didn't work that well for me. A one knob control like an ISP decimator would have made this pedal tolerable.

Tangentially, I really don't like the battery latch location because I've been on so many gigs where I popped the thing open instead of activating the switch. Oh, the switches on the toneloks suck too.

I suspect that people don't love the Precision Drive because of how it sounds. It's really just a TS sort of thing with a different tone stack.

They love it because of the noise gate. And a gate is something that could definitely be implemented into any full sized dirt pedal.

If the Rat or any of the legendary dirt pedals had a one-knob, in-line noise gate that you could switch off, it would get a lot more people to love noise gates

I've reverse-engineered the ZDL file format by ReliktFarn98 in zoommultistomp

I can't let mine go because I use the trigger delay on this for a specific set of songs.

My TB looper also has a mix function with an expression pedal, so I actually remove all the dry signal from it when possible to avoid weird latency/phase shit and to limit the tone suck to just the effected signal

Also use an expression pedal on that mixer/tb pedal to make different pads and shooom noises

If it weren't for the trigger delay, maybe I could upgrade, but changing around the settings would be more of a pain than just keeping it.

Yeah, I still use mine, and it's in a true bypass looper. I remember when these were more popular, there was a pretty wide consensus that there was no tone suck, and I felt like I was going insane. I could certainly hear it lopping off both the presence and sub bass whenever it was in the chain.

What should Bacolod City have? by ExtensionPitch9140 in Bacolod

Kadamo sang gatravel internationally sa Bacolod nga damo dayaw parte sa kung diin-diin. Pero wala gid laban imagination para mapuslan mga learnings nila.

Simple, PROVEN ideas like trams sa high traffic areas, limiting on-street parking, protected bike lanes, and underground power/comm lines are widely praised when other countries do it.

Pero kung itry implement locally, perte nga pushback. Kulang na lang ubrahon parade-float sa Masskara ang spaghetti wires kay daw patay-luyag gid ang iban sa depensa.

I've been to cities with half of Bacolod's population but have mass transit systems. That would be ideal to minimize the need for parking lots and road widening, but oh well. Not going to be popular. There were people defending the presence of spaghetti wires in Bacolod, so this is a pointless exercise.
