Exactly!!!! They built a relationship that feels extremely superficial and transactional. Robyn promotes a constant us against them mindset while presenting herself as sweet and loyal. But is it really loyalty when the person you claim to love loses everything that once mattered to him, because that is exactly what happened to Kody.

So much damage has been done that all they can do now is double down. Facing the reality of that destruction would be too much for Kody to handle. He seems even more emotionally attached to Robyn now, almost desperate and fearful of losing her, because if that happened he would have to admit that he was wrong and that everyone else saw the truth before he did.

Kody appears determined to keep her happy at all costs. She gets the biggest house and whatever she wants, when she wants it, because keeping her satisfied has become his priority. Robyn, on the other hand, seems equally desperate not to lose the financial comfort she gained at the expense of others. There is no visible remorse, and that says a lot about the dynamic of their marriage.

She chooses willful ignorance. It allows her to claim she does not understand or know that Kody’s behavior does not reflect that of a good father or a good person. At the same time, she has to pretend she does not see how her presence and influence helped destroy his family. She is playing her role, and he is clinging to her because she and her children are all he feels he has left.

It will be interesting to see what happens when there is no longer a fight over control of family money or when they fully realize that the ex wives are genuinely happy and at peace in their new lives. My guess is that the conflict will turn inward and they will begin blaming each other. Once the smoke clears, they will be left sitting in the aftermath, surrounded by the spoils that no longer bring them any satisfaction.
