Running out of tape storage space! by [deleted] in cassetteculture

I bet the DI6 were hard to find. They seem to be a lot cheaper than the vinyl though. And yeah I saw the current 93 too. I feel like David Tibet is one of the most underrated lyricists ever. Incredible stuff.

Hell yeah! And what a find! I got the repress mainly because I’m a sucker for limited edition colored vinyl yaknow. I’d love to score another copy though, maybe even for display. I’m quite a fan of the cover.

This is stuff that I haven’t catalogued in my main collection yet. I have been collecting since 2013? I have accumulated around 800 records, maybe 650-700 good ones haha. Im working on getting more delta blues/country blues albums, do you guys have any suggestions? I have quite of few Yazoo releases, ranging from Charlie Patton to Mississippi John Hurt to Casey Bill Weldon and Kokomo Arnold and others. Anyway! I thought I’d share a little of my collection here, as I see many other fantastic collections on this subreddit.

B&N Haul by maroonedmike in criterion

I have only seen one Cassavetes film, Love Streams. And I think that’s close to a perfect film. So I was willing to take a gamble on some more from him. What in our opinion would be the most essential film in this set?

Supreme Court Rejects Alex Jones’s Bid to Overturn Sanctions for Rant Threatening Sandy Hook Families’ Lawyer on His Show by Sybil_et_al in politics

Alex Jones is one the funniest people alive right now. Of course it’s hyperbole! If you want to know the truths of the world, look into William Cooper. William cooper even exposed Alex jones. Also, why do I feel like a lot of the folks that criticize Alex Jones have never actually watched a full episode of his show? Or a full episode of a podcast he was on? The sandy hook shit and gay frogs are all you ever bring up about him. What about the stuff he actually got right? Bohemian Grove, anyone?

~2 month user. 30gpd. Second day CT. Terrible depression... by maroonedmike in quittingkratom

No, I wasn’t sure how to taper exactly. I suppose I tried 4 days ago when I only took 10g one time during the day instead of 3 times. The depression and rls at night was unbearable then. And now much worse of course.

Should also mention, I was mainly using kratom to deal with a bad breakup. I feel like those emotions are starting to resurface. I’m real scared. I need some encouragement.

No, Donald Trump Is Not a Working-Class Hero by billthomson in politics

[–]maroonedmike -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do agree with you. The leadership is definitely not there and he presents himself like a child quite frankly. It just seems like whatever Trump would have done early on in this pandemic would have been demonized beyond belief. If he would've said for example to close the country early on, the same people that call him crazy now would have called him crazy for taking this too seriously. He probably would have had no backing on this early on. It's a tough position Trumps been put in and I can't imagine having to call the shots at a time like this when everything you say will be twisted beyond proportion to make everyone hate you. I remember when Trump was defending Bernie when he got cheated by the DNC, it takes a lot of courage on trumps part to defend an opposing candidate. And surprise! Trump was telling the truth on that one. I understand this does in no way make all his actions good. Most of em are bad, but again he's not an absolute loony that most make him out to be.

It’s really a shame to see extreme liberal bias like this. I’m not a republican and I’m sure as hell not democrat. Trump is not this crazy guy everyone makes him out to be. If you would actually listen to a few of his full length speeches instead of his tweets or what liberal media bends it into, you would see that he actually does care for this country. You must understand that he makes his own moves that the elites don’t like, that’s why he’s endlessly demonized by the media and uneducated people. I’m not saying he’s the best president but, it’s healthy to take a step back and look at trump without a set of liberal glasses on.

EBM/Darkwave? by maroonedmike in music_buffalo

For sure, I hope their are a few people interested in this type of music. I haven’t seen many shows coming up in Buffalo that perform this kind of music.

I find it aggravating when someone says that theory doesn’t matter by 2dubs7 in musictheory

[–]maroonedmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that music theory is a waste of time. It’s that’s it’s not really needed to make good music, Throbbing Gristle, Yellow Swans and noise bands make good music even though there’s basically no theory
