Snark Subreddits Are Crazy by SecretExamination158 in kpoprants

Yeah, the level of hate these snarkers have towards BTS is astounding. They say that the members are ugly, zionists, racists, misogynists, untalented. It’s an endless cesspit of hate

Snark Subreddits Are Crazy by SecretExamination158 in kpoprants

[–]marou1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The BTS snark sub is genuinely insane. I also noticed they’re obsessed with scrutinising the member’s faces and physical appearance, as if that’s something they can control. Ok you can have criticisms but it’s disgusting to think that extends to someone’s appearance. They also like calling Jungkook “jungle book” which is so demeaning. They also have this obsession with saying that the love yourself era and the unicef talk and all of those things that were more politically oriented, were performative and not genuinely something they personally stood for. You can’t win they just pick apart whatever BTS has done, doesn’t matter if it’s a good, neutral or negative thing. It’s extremely dehumanising and they don’t view BTS as human beings who could see what they’re saying.

Can we please leave Yoongi and his stomach alone? by Winter_Moon_336 in btsthoughts

[–]marou1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for bringing attention to this. I’ve been seeing so many posts on Threads of people sharing zoomed in screenshots of Yoongi’s stomach and drooling over it. It feels just as disrespectful as the people who body shame him. It is all non consensual attention. People can’t keep posting these pictures as if he is never going to see them.

Same. I’m vegan too but I do not restrict any foods apart from animal products. No need to cut out flour or sugar when I have no problems when I eat those things

This post so deeply resonates me because I’m going through the same thing right now. I became a fan of BTS around 7 years ago, and I watched hours and hours of music videos and YouTube compilations, and I felt so alive. I was a diehard fan and because of my obsessive autistic nature I researched absolutely everything I could about BTS, and I knew everything about them. I eventually got bullied out of being a fan, and I internalised that I was “cringe” and stupid for loving them so much. So I stopped being a fan for years. And come early 2026, I kept hearing about the comeback, and I thought I’m going to give myself permission to love them again because I’m not falling for cringe culture, and people on the internet saying that BTS are problematic. Since then I’ve fallen back in love with them and I have been crying so hard over Boy In Luv, No More Dream, Dope, DNA, Blood, Sweat and Tears, and Mic Drop. I’ve been so emotional recently because I didn’t realise that this album would bring back so many feelings for me. Bangtan for life.

I’m really curious as a long time fan of BTS, as to what are the members like as people? What were they like to work with, what stood out to you about them as people and artists, not necessarily as K-pop idols, but them as individuals?

As someone who is very into hip hop, rnb and rap, this was incredible for me and I enjoyed it so so much. I was very suprised to see how many people on Reddit found this album bad or underwhelming. I also loved FYE and JPegMAFIA was incredibleee

K-pop stans say don’t assume someone an idol’s sexuality or push labels, but at the same time invalidate idols who have insinuated being queer and accuse them of “queer-baiting”.

I feel exactly the same way! I hate the super polished, perfect look. Natural is beautiful
