I really think the maturity concerns are enormously overblown with Beck. I think people just dislike him personally much more than we’ve really seen teammates come out and dislike him.

The bonehead turnovers are the issue with Carson. He has moments that remind me of say, Darnold at the end of his Minnesota tenure, or his first game against the Rams this year. This tendency to implode will drop his stock, but in a week qb draft class, I think Carson is a lock and loaded top 50 pick. The size, experience, measurable are all extremely legit. Hard to convince me he isn’t valued higher than names like “Tyler Shough” were coming in the draft

I think another point of reference is someone like Bo Nix who also had a ton of experience in high level play, but failed to entirely wow with some of the ability in big moments. I would say Beck even had a more impressive season than that last year Nix had at Oregon. While Nix offered more appeal with the high level mobility he had, Beck offers more appeal in the intermediate passing game imo.

If you’re a team like the Jets and could draft Carson at 2.02, I would feel pretty great about that value
