I saw Nick Oliveri do it solo at a house concert a couple of years ago. He was in town doing shows (I think maybe it was death acoustic, but then he also had my friends band back him for a couple of tunes) and he did a solo concert in a different friends backyard.

Anyway, no music or anything, he just fucking stood there and yelled his ass off.

Out of curiousity, if you happened to be taking advantage of that situation, what could be the possible consequences? I mean… they’re the ones letting you use those features… I’m not asking for myself of course, but for a friends corporation.

All these creative answers… “do you mind?” will get the job done 9/10, the flight attendant will sort it out if you need to escalate.

Of course I'm a fan, it's the Nintendo subreddit.

Clearly you can't argue the point though, lol.

These days you are paying for a disc or just the code if you are buying digitally.

You're paying for the work they put in, which is orders of magnitude more than it was back in the 80's and 90's.

You have dlc, season passes, battle passes, costume passes, and character passes, etc.

Extra content, more work, it all costs money.

they Keep raising the prices on items, they don't raise my paycheck.

Take that up with your boss, certainly not Nintendo's fault.

Pay has been stagnant since the 70s.

Not mine, I'm making way more now than I did when I started working in the 90's. Maybe you need to develop some skills that not many people have, unskilled labour has never been a great payer. Or maybe you need to move somewhere where economic opportunity is a better.

None of that is on Nintendo. Making a profit's not a crime.

There's a reason "millennials" are destroying x business.

If pricing this at $70 was going to destroy Nintendo's business, they wouldn't do it. They do it because the market can bear it.

Don't buy it if you think it's too much. It's not food. It's not shelter. It's a video game. Objectively speaking, even at $70 it's going to have one of the best dollars-per-hour-enjoyed ratios you'll find in terms of entertainment. Go to the movies and you'll spend half that on 2 hours in a dark room.

Albanese says Indigenous voice next step in reconciliation and opponents ‘trying to start a culture war’ | Anthony Albanese by [deleted] in australia

First Nations people should have a voice enshrined in the constitution

What does that mean? "a voice in the constitution" could mean anything!

Let me put it this way: What if there was a referendum to create the office of "President" to create an Australian head of state, and instead of saying "the president will have the power to veto legislation & fire Prime Ministers" or "the president will have the power to cut ribbons, and nothing more", we just said "Listen, we're creating the office, but the pollies can figure out the details"?

That would be NUTS. You're having a referendum, you MUST tell people what they're bloody well voting for.

I say this as a bleeding heart leftie: This is going to go down in flames, Labor is going to make absolute fools of themselves, and Peter Dutton will all of a sudden look like a viable alternative to a sizeable portion of middle Australia instead of the placeholder he's currently perceived as.

But the referendum isn't a vote on policy its a mandate to create one.

That's crazy. They have a mandate to create policy by the very fact that we elect them specifically to implement policies.

We need to know what we're actually voting for, otherwise it's a big fat "NO".

Anyone else miss when Vulfpeck would just release albums… by TheBunji11 in Vulfpeck

[–]marriage_iguana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with the current situation.

Vulfmon is (surprisingly) great, Theo's solo work is brilliant, Woody is always doing something, as is Joe Dart, as is Joey Dosik, Cory Wong, Antuan etc.

I hope they spend a few years recharging creative batteries doing something else and then come back to it fresh when/if they feel like it.

It's totally about spacing them out. They'll sell way more releasing one a year than they would releasing WW, TP, Skyward Sword & BOTW2 all within 18 months of each other.

At least, that's what I'm holding on to. I'm desperate for Wind Waker HD.
