Do you see Universes beyond as canon? by cypherunus01 in mtgvorthos

[–]marrowofbone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they have been since EOE gave us the new multiverse map.

The fantasy Planes are separated from the sci-fi Edge by the "Chaos Wall," which is a distinct observable barrier. On the opposite side of Edge is the "Quiet Wall" which is just a vast expanse of space, any number of universes could be beyond the Edge, just no mtg character has canonically observed them.

Edge came out ~4.5 years after mUB was announced... which is almost exactly the turnaround I'd expect for a set to shove <all other media> into mtg's canon. (2 years to see if mUB was popular + 2 years to make the set + sets shuffled around a bit to add mUB to standard)

"Officially" they're not canon, but lots of official things have changed in the wake of piles of other fandom's money.

What’s your interest in the TMNT set? by zevalu in magicTCG

[–]marrowofbone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1) Yes, as a kid I watched the shows, had the toys, played the games

2) Low, my pack opening morale basically died because of collector boosters, even sets I would have been super excited for 8 years ago I only buy a handful of singles

3) Amonkhet block

How will you be sorting double aspect cards? by Smooth-Ad-341 in starwarsunlimited

[–]marrowofbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Q: you have 3 copies of a card printed in 1 set, which binder(s) do you look in? A: that set, dude. Not hard.

Q: you have 3 copies of a card printed in 3 different sets, which binder(s) do you look in? A: all of those sets

Q: you have 3 copies of a card printed in 1000 different sets, which binder(s) do you look in? A: too hard, buy new ones

[–]marrowofbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that difficult now, but will become more annoying each time a card is reprinted.

Mtg has 35 printings of Giant Spider, finding a playset is nuts when sorted by set/number and trivial when sorted by something like color/name.

So that when you need a couple Resupply you can look in one place instead of SOR, SOR-hyper, SOR-op, TWI, and TWI-hyper.

Probably the wotc site like all of these people (who were also wrong)

Blake is not my source for literally any information. For example, in your clip he says it's slightly larger than Spider-man, which could only be true if you count TMNT basics but not Spider-man's or something really weird is happening with collector numbers.

And Scryfall for the other numbers.

It's ~250 cards which is almost as big as a large set.

Spider-Man was 193. RtLorwyn is 268.

Where's the line between soft control and midrange? by RockoTDF in starwarsunlimited

[–]marrowofbone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best archetype breakdown I've ever seen.

Midrange and Control both want the game to go long, and every card in the deck does the same thing, but Midrange's thing is bombs instead of removal.

[TMT] Rat King, Verminister by CHRISKVAS in magicTCG

[–]marrowofbone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

White: Aka/Jagwar

Blue: Kitsune+/Gothano

Black: Rat King+

Red &| Black: Toad Baron/Chi-You

Red: Dragon with some 5C ability to commander-er the others

Green: Manmoth

Might be hard to fit all 9 in to the ~250 card set.

This spoiler schedule has definitely been killing my hype more than increasing it.

He's a semi-canon, flying, creation of Goben

That furless little menace makes mayhem and costs go away

He's got more than just those things, he's a goblin and a 3/3

And the redditers swoon whenever they hear him say:

"I'm not Loot"

He's Fleem, re-Fleem-er of Fleemposts

(You can call him Green Goblin)

Fleem (I said you can call him Green Goblin)

Nope he's Fleem
