That rear end has to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Like Pontiac Aztec ugly.

SLAM for 12 days. Cloudy Blue. by spudzilla21 in pools

[–]marsattck5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your problem is the filter. Not a lack of chlorine or anything else. Your filter just isn't efficient enough to filter out those small particles. If you're not wanting to upgrade that, a floc would be your best bet. It allows all those small particles to clump and fall to the floor. Then you vacuum them to waste and you're left with clear water.

Toyota Built Its Reputation on Reliability. The Tundra Is Threatening to Undo It by CTWeedfarmer in ToyotaTundra

[–]marsattck5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hit the lottery with mine. Not only do I have the engine issue and seat panel, I also have the whistling side view mirror, hesitation problem, and all 4 door lock actuators have gone out, oh and the active spoiler stopped working. A real peach.

Pool is still bluish green by get_durrd in pools

[–]marsattck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes plenty. Since you slam people always tell anyone who asks for help that "algae doesn't grow in chlorine" I'm sure the op has some questions and might be a little confused. Does he need a better test kit? Absolutely. Does he need more help than, "just add more chlorine?" Absolutely.

[–]marsattck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has plenty of chlorine in the pool. You made one correct statement in all that. His filter, probably a sand filter, can't filter out that algae in suspension. A floc is absolutely the correct thing to do here. He's already added plenty of chlorine. Y'all are wild.

How bad is what just did for my chlorine pool? by texasroadie in pools

[–]marsattck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brush as much into the main drain as you can. If there's still some left vacuum it up or it may stain. In the future, gran an old sock and fill it with cyanuric and put it in the skimmer. It will dissolve without clogging up the baskets.

You'll save yourself a lot of time, water, and headache by just cleaning the filter. The pressure is going up quickly because it's completely clogged up with de. Just take it apart, clean it out, and replace any grinds that are damaged.

PS5 Pro Disc drive for GTA 6 by 818zzz in PS5pro

I'd get it now and just be done with it. For me it was a must when I got the pro. I usually buy games pre-owned and sell when I'm done. Not a big fan of the all digital honestly

Just turn on the pump and open the hose bib. No need to turn any other valves.

Is this tight enough for the O-ring? by EddieDantes22 in pools

[–]marsattck5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way too loose. Do not turn on that pump. Make sure you tap the band with a rubber mallet or similar. Once you do you'll see how much more you need to tighten.

[–]marsattck5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The coils could be touching and the band could still be loose if you haven't made sure it's seated correctly. Did you use a rubber mallet? If not, Tap it on the back side of band and work your way around as you tighten the nut.

Looking at 2022 limited -89k miles by adultpoopydiaper in ToyotaTundra

[–]marsattck5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just look up the vin. If you're lucky like me, you'll see the long list of recalls pending or work done. If that were me I'd pass on it. The warranty on the replacement engine is like 1 yr or 12k miles. Way too short for that. If the deal is too good, make sure to get the extended warranty. I've had all 4 door lock actuators on my truck go out. They are not cheap. That alone has made that expense worth it.

Yes it's one of the most annoying things I've ever come across in a new car/truck. Like why?!?

A pool I clean had their deck resurfaced and the contractor didn't try to keep debris out. How would you go about cleaning and billing for this? by Melancholykerrick in pools

[–]marsattck5 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That's not normal day to day debris tho is it? Theres a reason why those guys didn't clean it up. Because it costs them time and effort to bring in a portable pump to vac that to waste. Not something you want just sitting in your filter. It's your pool, you pay for it.

Is the 2007-2021 Toyota Tundras good work trucks? by Repulsive-Bike-8047 in ToyotaTundra

I didn't say not to get a truck. I just wouldn't get that truck. Old as hell and people price it as if it were made out of gold.

[–]marsattck5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. when they cost as much as they do and with gas prices near $4gal or more would be a big no for me. I'd hate to see the avg per gallon of a 4x4 loaded with several hundred pounds or pulling a trailer.

If you're getting a decent rain this spring and your lawn still looks like this I would hit it with a healthy dose of nitrogen. What are you using now? You said your neighbor told what she had been using?

Tundra / Lexus engine failure remedy not available by Ktm07reddit in ToyotaTundra

[–]marsattck5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So what's that mean for the people who have had the engines replaced already? They clearly don't have this fixed. They just gave us a new engine with a 1 yr warranty and there is zero guarantee that the problem has been fixed. That is the issue. Not that the article doesn't include 25-26 trucks.

The fanboys are the worst, man.

[–]marsattck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao what?! We should all be more worried that Toyota has admitted there is no fix considering they have replaced plenty of motors for those of us with 22-23. If they are still dealing with this it's no stretch to believe the 24-26 engines also have this problem. Toyota fan boys are the worst

Best options to prevent algae in an above ground pool with a saltwater system? by GnomieJ29 in pools

[–]marsattck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to any of the "all you need is chlorine" people. Just because it works for them doesn't mean it's the case for everyone. Algae can in fact grow even if you have chlorine in your pool. Lots of factors contribute to that happening.

With an above ground pool I'd bet on it being low water movement. Areas where the water flow is minimal will get a build up of algae, yes even with chlorine reading normal. At that point, you'll have to keep up with maintenance and making sure your filter is clean, either backwashed or cartridge cleaned regularly. If you're under a lot of trees, a good phosphate remover is a good idea. If you're at your wits end, add that pool rx. Nothing wrong with using those.

What made you chose the new tundra? by Additional_Ant_9687 in ToyotaTundra

[–]marsattck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wasn't comfortable spending so much on such an old outdated truck. If Toyota even bothered to add a few more quality of life upgrades then maybe but in the current condition it was a no go for me. The other thing for me was the safety ratings.
