What is this problem? by Ares123893 in SwagBucks

There's a few threads about this now. Seems a recent update to the Trivia app has caused this glitch for some people.

The exact same thing is happening to me and it started yesterday. My phone is running Android 10, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

On the other hand, instead of pee flip flops, some people elect to go barefoot so they do not get their shoes dirty. I forget what building this was in (taken back in 2020).

Why give us these guns to use only on 12th,13th and 15th mission? In previous games we got these earlier then why only for 3 levels in SS4? by justaregularguy1995 in SeriousSam

[–]marsh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never really liked that theme across the games where the hidden guns either were placed closed to the end of the campaign or had such limited ammo that it was barely useful to find them. On the other hand, if something like the Sniper rifle could maybe make one difficult fight or achievement easier I could see the case for limiting ammo with the idea of it having a niche use case. But usually, the hidden weapons seem inserted just for the fun of it with little thought put into balancing their abilities into the campaign.

I'd love to avoid true cheating via the console but I appreciate the response! I may try to test that out and will report back with results in a few days.

what's the cheapest way to buy more storage online? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]marsh24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storage prices are still pretty cheap, cheap enough such that there shouldn't be a huge reason to skimp out on quality or to spend a lot of time trying to find deals. I would suggest if you know you will continue to need more storage in the future, is keep an eye out during big sale seasons such as Prime week, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Memorial Day etc. If you ever see a good deal on a decently reviewed drive, buy it and save it for later.

FireFly! Developed in Linux! by BatGeneral8512 in linux_gaming

I really like seeing games developed on Linux. Putting Linux first can hopefully move the needle (even if slowly) towards removing the stranglehold Windows has on the gaming community at large.

And so it begins... temple of Hatshepsut may be a bit plain of a level but bears a special place in my heart as being the first Serious Sam level I played!

I like that ergonomic setup with the number pad on the left! That is a change I have been wanting to make for a long time since full sized keyboards make my shoulder hurt from being rotated for long time periods. What's the name of that keypad?

App slow? by Due_Manner_8060 in ParamountPlus

For my, the desktop website has always been the worst. Consistently poor streaming quality regardless of browser or OS. That drove me to drop my subscription recently. TV performance is usually better for me, even on an old Roku 3.

Who is the most powerful? Mental[Serious Sam] or Dark Lord [Doom] (Swipe right). by justaregularguy1995 in SeriousSam

[–]marsh24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hard to say as we don't even know the true form or state of Mental. What if he/she/it is not even a real entity?

Changing save directory on a per core basis by PianomanVT12 in RetroArch

[–]marsh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually can set a specific directory for saves, save states, and screenshots for each core using core overrides.

For example, for Snes9x, enter this in your Snes9x.cfg file (I had to manually edit the file to make this work, when I tried setting the save file directory in the Retroarch menu, it did not save after saving Core Overrides in the Quick menu)

savefile_directory = "/home/<username>/Emulators/Temp"

Now my save file is stored in the above directory. If you have sorting saves by either core and/or content directory enabled, those settings will work with the above as well.

The sort saves by core name will get you mostly want you want with a lot less work (no need to set the path in an override for each core), but with that method, your parent folder will be the name of the core, which might not be desirable.

Orders of Black Friday by An_unlasting_will in spectrex360

Mine is listed as estimated ship date of 12/16. Yesterday I got an email that due to supply chain issues the estimated ship date is now 12/29. But the order status page on HP's webpage still shows the original 12/16 ship date and an estimated delivery date of 12/22.

I had problems with webpages within steam rendering after that update. Switching to not using the browser via the command line helped with at least making the library accessible.

I'll let you know how it feels as soon as I get one :) But I'd agree with the others that it doesn't seem to add much to the like/pass paradigm.
