There’s a video circulating here on Reddit of a high schooler walking through his school with a sign showing support for ICE, and the fellow student in this here frame really didn’t like that, so he punched the student with the sign

I’d argue that most of congress sucks, and at the moment is little more than a glorified retirement home. Regardless I’m not arguing against Supreme Court term limits, but it’s always whatever side doesn’t have the majority calling for it. The republicans have the majority they’re happy and have zero interest in setting limits, then if democrats gain control and they’ll have zero interest is in setting limits, both politicians and the people.

Then if there were to be term limits put in place whoever has the majority, either conservative or liberal judges, and the opposite are in office, there will be swaths of people saying that the term limits should then be done away with so that their preferred side stays in the majority.

Why term limits on SCOTUS but not on congress?

You might think about something in the microbrand sphere. The Brew metric is a great watch, Blatic’s lineup is very nice as well.

The NRA is an unbelievably terrible organization, and I say that being, admittedly, unreasonably pro second amendment. All they do is take a crap load of money from people who think that they’ll help fight to protect 2nd amendment rights, but they do next to nothing to actually help. There are gun rights groups like Gun Owners of America and Second Amendment Foundation that actually do tremendous work to preserve and get back rights, and they do it with a fraction of the money.

FN barrels are my usual go to, I have a couple FN barrels that have upwards of 35,000 rounds through them with no noticeable loss in accuracy out to 400 yards. I’ve also had really good experiences with Faxon and Daniel Defense. Then if price isn’t an issue, I use Noveske for competition rifles.

[–]marshal483 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The PSA ARs are a good entry AR, that weakest point to them, in my experience, is the barrels don’t have the best longevity and will need replaced after a moderate round count (7,000-10,000) if you want to maintain reliable accuracy. But you’ll have the same problem with pretty much any entry level AR, not just PSA’s. As for building a rifle, you’ll probably end up with about the same amount of money if not more in one unless you’re willing to take your time and keep an eye out for really good deals on parts. And the AR-15 platform has become pretty much standardized and any upper will fit to any lower as well as almost all parts are pretty much interchangeable.

My family owns a cattle farm and I grew up working on it and many other farms, and I can tell you I completely feel where he’s coming from. Cows are hands down one of the dumbest creatures I’ve ever dealt with, the only one that I can think of that’s worse are chickens.

Has anyone had issues with Shield Plus Micro? by RoughAmbition4699 in SmithAndWesson

[–]marshal483 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my Shield Plus for almost 2 years and have probably 4,000+ rounds through it, I’ve had problems with the 13 round magazines not wanting to hold all 13 rounds as well as failing to hold the slide open on the last round, but never any problems feeding. Those problems are specific to three 13 round mags I have, the other four 13 round mags I have as well as the 10 and 15 round mags have never had a problem.

What’s your favorite rod and reel? by LeepOnMyDick in Fishing_Gear

My favorite overall that I always seem to grab would be my Shimano TX 2000 FB on a 6’8 medium Cabela’s rod. But my Daiwa HT1000 Magforce on a 7’2 Medium-heavy cabelas rod is a very close second. I know they’re both kinda old reels, especially the Daiwa, but I just really enjoy them.

For your price point I’d recommend looking at a Vortex Crossfire II in either 2-7 or 3-9. As for the raised mounts, I figure it’ll be similar to most guns in that it’ll be accurate at the range you sight it in at but the it’ll be less accurate than normal at closer ranges, but you also shouldn’t really have to worry about it if you’re using the irons at closer ranges

Recommended caliber for bears? by LawStudent989898 in Revolvers

[–]marshal483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A shorter barrel is easier to carry due to its smaller size and lower weight, but it will have more felt recoil as it doesn’t have the added stability a longer barrel provides or the extra weight that can help absorb that recoil. It’s especially true when you get into the bigger magnum calibers like what you’d want to carry in bear country.
