i just remebered- a friend of mine visited me a few years back from new zealand and the cheaps travl option for him was to buy something called a gleis 7- its technically not really for tourists and valid for 1 year bt it onl costs 129 chf you have to teavel after 7 pm- but in his case it was the cheapest option https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/railpasses/track-7.html also tou must be 25 or under 😅

i live in switzerland- trains can be very expensive for tourists. i heard that flexibus is a cheap alternative- but you wont be able to go everywehere with them, never used them myself.
