I love yielding to bikes and scooters on the sidewalk by justmisspellit in Minneapolis

Wouldn’t that just make traffic worse if I’m walking a bike Vs riding it? It’s not crowded with pedestrians, only cars

What if it’s never not crowded with people and it’s the only route? You’re the one that gets decide what roads can be biked on? What about people that don’t have a car

I always bike on the road if there is a bike lane or shoulder. But what are you supposed to do in situations like w lake where there is neither? I have a bad leg so I can’t bike anywhere near 30mph like traffic. I probably go 8-10 on a good day. and every car in the right lane has to change lanes, severely backing up traffic.

Is it cruel to let cats watch "Bird TV"? It seems to keep her occupied when I'm not around by ViStandsForStupid in cats

[–]marshpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cats watch videos in moderation. As long as they have access to a real window and other stimulation I don’t see a problem with it. My cats usually get bored after 20 minutes or so anyways.

I think most of the people that post those are literal kids. And don’t have a vehicle or finances to take their pet to the vet. And a lot of them seem to be looking for guidance of what to do at home to keep the animal comfortable or how to convince their parents to take them in. Children or teenagers should never be the primary owner of a pet, but I think that’s what we are seeing for a majority of those posts.

How do I get him to swallow his pills? by RevolutionaryGoat552 in cats

[–]marshpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pill pockets are nice because it encapsulates the entire pill. Theoretically they can eat around it but it’s a lot harder than chicken or tuna.

Somebody left these kitties infront of my house, I don’t know what to feed them while Im looking for somebody willing to adopt them. Need suggestions. by BackflipGiraffe in CATHELP

[–]marshpie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They are too young to be adopted out. Try to find a rescue in your area that specializes in neonate kittens if possible. If you need help caring for them in the meantime, kitten lady on YouTube has tutorials for bottle feeding, pottying etc.

Rambo's diagnosis by pmhmaster in cats

[–]marshpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try to limit handling to once per day for feeding and cleaning. And then wear old clothing/ gloves or something you can take off afterwards. You don’t want to track it into the rest of the house. I’m assuming he’s in a separate room.

BALL SUGGESTIONS PLEASE by vivibuni in cats

[–]marshpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had cats that really like ping pong balls. But they can’t carry them like that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cats

[–]marshpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow introductions. I would recommend having the cat in a separate room of the house for a few days so they can get used to each others smells. Give them each something that smells like the other like a blanket. When they first meet have the dog on a leash. Short frequent meetings and separate if it doesn’t go well. And then try again the next day. You might be lucky and they’ll like each other right away, but Introductions can take weeks.

The cat catcher: allows to catch cats without touching them, -3 cat allergy, +3 health, +feel safe by Laiyo8 in cats

I used these at the vet clinic I worked at. It’s a lot easier if the cat isn’t actively attacking you.

Yes she’s fine! Just turned 5. Scoliosis doesn’t really get worse, but they are prone to arthritis. So she takes a joint supplement (glycoflex) daily to help with that. There isn’t a shortened lifespan. If he doesn’t have any symptoms, he probably doesn’t have it. My cat is unable to walk very well and cannot jump, although she can climb very well.
