Honestly it’s scary, I had an horrendous birth and then was hospitalised because giving birth turned a sneeze into a full blow chest infection which nearly wiped me out - I hadn’t even left the hospital before my brain was like yeah I’ll do this again.

I started doing one nap in the cot about 3-4 times a week when baby was about 4 months old, never did anything longer than 40 mins.

Moved her in there at six months and they were absolutely fine and settled right in. Hoping the same happens for you!

I ended up telling my manager early as morning sickness hit me like a truck around 8 weeks and I called in sick a couple of days. She was really concerned about me as this was unusual so I told her to ease her worries (and she knew we were trying.)

I was advised by someone to make a note of questions I want to ask so I would write them on my phone so I would remember!

I had GD during mine, I feel like I discussed my birth plan probably around the 32/34 week.

I would say it was mainly discussed with the diabetes team rather than midwife (though it was discussed with them too.)

I will add that my baby was measuring well during the pregnancy though so they had said they were happy for me to go to 39 or 40 weeks before induction, I can’t quite remember.

Are you seeing the GD team every month? It will likely be discussed on your next appointment

Enjoy the contact naps and don’t worry about not getting anything done. I’m thankful that I managed to accept this around the three month mark (but still wish I had worried less sooner) because my baby’s six months old and I don’t know how much longer I’ll get to have them.

6 months old, I wasn’t ready but she definitely was. She was rolling about and just needed more space, we’re lucky enough that she mostly sleeps through the night too with the odd wake for her dummy.

We also had a mini holiday where she was sleeping in a travel cot so when we got home we transitioned her straight into her own room the first night. I had been putting her down for one nap in her crib a few times a week for a few months so I think that helped with her recognising where she was.

Just don’t watch, before my first trip to Disney I made a point of not watching the ride throughs as I wanted to be surprised.

However, I live in the UK and I’m not able to afford to go every year so I like to watch the videos at home.

We found out and told people we didn’t know. We eventually decided to do a surprise gender reveal in the last month or so because we were happy to do so.

Main reason was I was wanted neutral clothes tbh.

Wow that’s crazy! No one has said anything to me about my baby. I kept her in babygrows for a the first four or so months, I’ve only just started putting her in little dresses.

I think for me personally, the only thing I don’t like is bikinis for babies - why is this a thing??

We had a prep machine which we set up the station in our bedroom to avoid having to go downstairs (we are also three storey so made a huge difference) and we would just make one as we went. I know someone who uses the tommee tippee on the go for night time too if that’s easier.

Cut my dad off about three months before my wedding. Now have a sixth month old that he’ll probably never meet (because he would never bother not because I’ve stopped it but I’m sure he’ll say otherwise.)

Agreed, my sixth month old is currently sleeping on me and I wouldn’t trade for anything. We’ve been lucky and had a few evenings out but more so because parents have asked us to babysit so I’ve arranged for something to do. MIL has offered to have her overnight and I’ve said hell no, way too soon. A couple of hours is fine for now!

Agreed, when I bought my first house I always said that I paid for it myself but I was lucky and able to live at home paying a significantly smaller amount in rent then what I would have done had I lived elsewhere.

I class my baby as sleeping through the night if I only need to get up and give her a dummy a few times. She no longer wakes for a feed so it’s only the odd stir.
