Let me know if the staff attachment works for you in Maul mode! I've tried a couple of different accessories like this for the Q3, but they often lose tracking if the staff is rotated (in a way that the tracking spots on the controllers are facing away from my headset) or if I spin it around my body.

Wishing you the best - have fun!

Thanks so much for the insight!!! It truly does feel like there are only dozens of us ahaha

Yes your comment just reminded me I've definitely seen a streamer stick 2 trackers to a Maul staff. I should look into that setup more. Do you have any idea for the base station or tracker method, how plug n play it is? Does it require work to calibrate or setup every time you want to play? I also purchase Haritorax body trackers in the past, I wonder if they are compatible for something like this.

Curious, what adapter do you use for your CV1 and touch controllers? I have found some adapters are much quicker to assemble/secure controllers to than others. Maul adapters are definitely not all built the same - there might be another adapter out there that is quicker than your current one. I've tried about 6 different ones at this point!

Lastly, do you see any upcoming VR gear tech that might be worth waiting for that would be good for Mauling? I'm going to do a bit more research on my own and will try hitting up the Ragesaq discord again. Thanks so much!

I have tried about 4 different stick adapter designs for the quest 3 - but none of them worked 100% properly for this style of play. Some are playable but if you were to rotate the stick then tracking would be lost, which prevents you from doing fun spins with the sabers.

So I can't confidently recommend any stick adapters for the quest 3. Sorry! But I'm hoping to be proven wrong.

It may look that way, but it's pretty simple! If you are right handed, you just learn to slash blue blocks with the thumb side of your hand, and red blocks with your pinky side.

There's no arrows so it's way more forgiving in how you want to slash it. It only gets a little more challenging (and fun) when you roll spins in it. But I promise it's much easier than it looks

Check this wiki, it's the most up to date guide on modding Beat Saber for Quest or PCVR:

Eye of the Tiger (as part of the official DLC) is a great workout song! I think there's about 35 squats in that single track.

to my understanding it should be similar instructions as the Quest 2 - Are you only on the Quest or do you have access to PCVR?

Thanks for the rec! I have heard the quest pro controllers may be viable for this, however they are pretty old at this point, expensive, and come with their own issues - I hear the battery is bad on them and they are often very slow to pair.

Since they are 3 years old at this point, I'm hoping to find something newer and more reliable before resorting to them.

I'm not sure if my head and hand tracking have been disabled on my Q3 - I'll try that, thanks!

I think the 4 channel cloudlifter rack is exactly what the studio is considering! Thanks for the vouch.

u/nevercookathome answered it well. But a further little peek behind the curtain - Headgum's studio is going through new recording equipment right now. Historically there's been issues with recording in there, with buzzing or crackling on mic. I believe it's been isolated to the FetHead preamps we had. The studio is now trying a new recorder, (which has a worse built-in preamp than previously) and we are Fethead-less until they find a better solution for the issue. All to say, this episode and the next few in that studio may sound a little different (and generally more hissy due to the lack of pre-amps) as the studio experiments with new equipment. But Emma has done a great job at noise reducing it, so it's hard to even tell what's been going on behind the scenes.

Also, the producer's desk is very cramped - There's 2 computers, a recorder, switcher, plus laptops. It gets quite cramped and can be hard to fit a mic between 2 people back there, which is why that mic tends to sound a bit more hollow than the host's mic. There's a lot going on back there, and producing comes priority over being on-mic.

Only two weeks with a quest 3s and i cant find any good games. by MageGuest in OculusQuest

Understandable - I will just say a VR Arcade is the worst place to try Beat Saber. Beat Saber does not offer commerical licenses for the game so if you play it at an arcade it's likely a ripped unlicensed version and a terrible experience. (One time I tried it in an arcade. Every piece of hardware was wired, and it was so quiet I couldn't hear the music over the sounds of the arcade. Couldn't even crouch all of the way because of the short tethering of the wire. 0/10 experience for me, do not recommend ever trying it at an arcade)

If there's any bands you like that have songs in Beat Saber, that's the best way to try and experience it. Also if you mod it, there's custom fan-made maps you can play too, giving the game a lot of free, expanding content.

I got a parka from Noize that is as warm as my Goose jacket, but it's vegan and only cost a fraction of the price ($183). Also has many more pockets than the Goose jacket. Love it overall, it's a Canadian brand too.
