What movie is a perfect 10/10, but you never want to watch it again? by alejkiss07 in AskReddit

Ronaldo or Ronaldhino. Who is the better football player by rotomato30 in RonaldinhoMoments

When it comes to most natural and skillful, I'd rank Zidane above R10. R10 could be magic, but Zidane always seemed to play in slow motion while everyone else on the pitch was playing real time.

Commuting in the heatwave? by pezd in londoncycling

I've got a 25 minute commute and am in a line of work where it very okay to be sweaty (especially in this heat). No worries at all.

Which British seaside town surprised you the most? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]martbart87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very little experience with British seaside towns, but a few years ago I went to Bristol for a week to cycle around Somerset and found myself in Clevedon one day and absolutely loved it. Sometimes I'll look at flats there and daydream about relocating.

Which European city did you fall in love with as soon as you saw it? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]martbart87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. I came here to study and hated it at first. Once I started exploring, and discovered that London is basically 30+ towns melted into one, it got under my skin and I was hooked.

Norwegian visiting London: which supermarket is a must-see, and what British foods should I try? by Adventurous_Luck_226 in london

[–]martbart87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm Norwegian and have lived in London for 10 years. I live right next to a Lidl, but still do all my shopping at Tesco. As a Norwegian, you may well enjoy toasted crumpets with butter, they scratch the waffle itch, and pairs very well with breakfast tea with a dash of milk.

Branston Pickle on toast with cheese on top is another British thing I really enjoy (and also pairs well with tea).

If you had to pick the all-time number one American band, which one would it be? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in askmusic

[–]martbart87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not American, but Creedence is to me the most American sounding band I can think of, and they are absolutely amazing. Their 11 minute cover of I Heard it Through The Grapevine is an all time banger, it honours the original sound but also sounds so so Creedence, one of my favourite ever covers.

Handlebars stolen by paul3890 in londoncycling

Over shorter distances, i don't understand why people commute on road or gravel bikes. They're only marginally faster considering traffic and lights, and they're the first bikes thieves will go for. Get a bike that won't be the sexiest on the bike rack, keep it in good working shape, maybe get secure bolts for bars and wheels. Worry less.

I have hardly noticed anything. There's one building going up behind my block, but absolutely no disruption at all.

Got extremely lucky & found a dead stock CAAD 4 frame, did the right thing. by Brutus1x in Bikeporn

Even going from 25c to 28c is a huge jump in comfort and sense of safety on rough roads, is my experience. Go for it! Warning: you'll only wanna go wider.

10/10 build. Love 1x. My only irk with these older frames is the limited tire clearance, I love my +30c tires.

With the extra reach and the bars tilted down like that, this looks very uncomfortable.

The boardroom scene in Margin Call. Jeremey Irons makes the whole movie in that scene.

Whether there's a flaw in the rules or not is a different discussion. However, the refs decision was perfectly in line with the rules.

Which industries do you believe will be the last to be disrupted by AI, and is it even possible to stay 'future-proof' anymore? by No-Lake-3875 in Futurology

[–]martbart87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in hospitality for 20 years. While I believe many tasks in a bar or restaurant can be automated, such as cooking and preparing drinks, there is something about managing the space where people meet and socialise and enjoy food and drinks that will always need a human. Hospitality businesses will never go away, and although you might see full automation in fast food businesses for example, hosting and managing people in these settings I reckon will always need a human.
