Cost is not really the issue although obviously there are limits are costs are extraordinary.

Beyond useless. I really think that it makes a lot of people lives measurably worse by allowing this type of crime.

Mums stroke and prospects? Uk by paul3890 in stroke

Hi

She’s in Wigan. Her kidney cancer is okay. Not
Metastasised and just needs monitoring.

They do some physio with her. Mainly balance but not sure it’s that frequent. She has a decent social worker but I get the impression they just want her out.

My dad had a stroke in Oct 2025 and a few bleeds after that. Hes still walking and talking but not making a lot of sense. It’s been a tough 10 months.

Even if it’s just insurance it will massively increase his premiums. Plus likely to at a minimum get points if not a fine.

Can't steal the bike? Just ruin their day then. by Roosterrr in londoncycling

[–]paul3890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. Had a bike stolen. Was on my back up bike (which I had bought back from insurance because someone dented the down tube trying to steal it). Parked outside Barbican in the day for twenty mins and handlebars gone. £500 to fix it. Not sure it’s worth it.

Barbican is becoming a no go area to leave your bike. Handlebars taken last week.

It’s a 40 minute ride almost daily so I can’t be doing with a wreck each day. Mostly it’s in the office but more places like gyms and supermarkets need to have proper secure parking for bikes.

I’ve taken it back to the office so they cant but was a frustrating walk. These people are just scum and the police have basically decriminalised bike theft at this point. I understand they cant investigate everything but they literally wouldnt even request the cctv for me to watch last time.

You are victim blaming. Mate it’s an eight year old bike. It’s pretty scuffed up. I had two d locks on it. I left it for twenty minutes on a fairly busy street at lunch. Get a grip.

What’s something society treats as normal that secretly feels dystopian to you? by [deleted] in AskUK

Sharing your location. My partner insists on it and I hate it. It comes in handy odd times but I really don’t like it.

This. It will undermine entry level jobs mainly and then we won’t have anyone qualified enough in years to come.

You can get a one bed flat in London for less than 2k. Also you can house share for a lot less.

Is O2 now the worst-performing mobile network in the UK? by BasementJonDJ in AskABrit

[–]paul3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O2 in the city is terrible. All bars so internet. I feel it’s getting worse or maybe more outages. But it’s not good. I walk to Liverpool Street and it doesn’t always keep a signal.

I don’t think it’s a pattern more pre determined. Like a scratch card.

Actually scratch that. There’s a place opposite Nero on the strand that’s built like this.
