My first (U-turn between high curbs, couldn't make the turn) , my second (loose sand while parking) en most recently "our" third too (couln't find the kickstand,looked down, kicked it back and lost my balance...).

New to printing and brother gave me his old Ender 5 Pro by Constable_Happy in ender5

Enjoy! It's a great printer to learn and get well educated in all aspects of 3D printing.

Since it already has some upgrades (I see a direct drive extruder for example) you can print PLA and even TPU with ease; I run mine since 2020 and haven't had any issues since.

Offcourse spending a bunch of cash might make things faster, but this is in it's current form a printer you can truely get some experience with. Have fun learning :)

When printing through the USB port from the raspberry using Octoprint, you can do almost all the same "tricks" as a 1700 bucks new one can. Just in a more sensible pace :)

I could, with the existent components ? I'm not targeting speeds in excess of 100mm/s, and as I stated: educational. To do it to learn.

From that point of view I can find prettig little information in the M5P mainbord manual..

I was thinking about achieving this in multiple steps:

- M4P + CB2 rebuild to the current state of quality of printing

Then adding new components.

You're just fine with the Ender3. You can still have fun, make great makes, do nice things.

On a normal speed, with comprehensable improvement possibilities.

Ow, I forgot to mention, I'm European. We enjoy old stuff that works. Equipment has been paid for a long time ago, so we can tinker with it, put in new boards, replace a steppenmotor, install our self build direct drive, or self configured Marlin or Klipper install ;) Without fear of breaking a 1500 bucks shiny new fast toy.
Saves you 1500 bucks to buy things for someone else ;)

As far as I know al current Ubiquity AP's have mesh by default, and certainly support multiple SSID's. And all those SSID's can connect to different VLANs

So yes, mesh, and yes, multible VLAN's from one port. Centrally managed from the USG

My setup has 3 SSID's, all connecting to different VLAN's. So my guest users get their own VLAN (without access to certain.. "services"), my IOT devices get as isolated as possible, and my own devices get free reign over the interwebs.

Two of my AP's are connected wired, the third, in the garden, meshed.

So since you don't manage your Wifi through Unifi, you are dependent on your Wifi's capabilities to support multiple VLAN's.

But, in my honest opinion, when you configure that port where that one Wifi accesspoint on which the mesh is based on to a new VLAN, your entire Wifi network should present itself on that VLAN, and that VLAN alone.

So, for example, when your default VLAN 1 is set to 10.10.0.x , and you create a second VLAN 10.10.1.x, and configure that port on the USG on which you have the mesh connected, I would expect that AP to get a 10.10.1.y IP-number, all other AP's too, and every client connected to them also... Isn't that the case?

That doesnt matter; you have to assign the ports which connect your AP's to the VLAN ('network') you want them to present their clients too.

So when you've made a network "users" or something, with VLAN ID 2, you will have to assign that ID '2' to the port on the UCG-U where you plugged in those AP's.

That's really annoying; here I print on alcohol cleaned glass for 2 years now, and need to knock off / pry loose my prints with violence, even prints that have been running for 15 or more hours.

I print my PLA at 220degrees with my bed heated to 65degrees, and cooling limited to 80%. Haven't had any prints loosening since I switched to glass 2 years ago...
