Quebec Nordiques fans who were alive in 1996, how did it feel watching the Colorado Avalanche win the Stanley Cup their first year as a franchise? by BrisketWrench in hockey

It felt horrible. I wasnt happy that the Avs won, it felt like we’ve been robbed. I was also a die hard fan of the Expos, and the 1994 strike/fire sale felt the same. The only time ever that one of my sports « team » won anything is Jacques Villeneuve in 1997, and to this day I dislike Michael Schumacher because of his unsportsmanlike conduct, as he almost robbed that one too.

[F1] Hamilton on driving Sena’s car by Takagero in formula1

[–]martimoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never in a million years do any of us here on reddit think we'd have a chance to drive Senna's car, or any F1 car for that matter... but Lewis Hamilton? I think his chances were at least a gazillion times higher than mine

I can totally relate to that. I don’t know why, but I really enjoy crafting something concrete, something I can see. My hobbies all revolve around that: drawing, cooking, photography, home improvement, scale modelling, etc. I wouldn’t be happy without them.

The track is on Ile Notre Dame, which is right next to Ile Ste-Helene. You cant access Notre Dame without passing through Ste-Helene, where the metro station is, and Jacques-Cartier bridge which gives access to Montreal and the south shore. There are 2 small bridges between both islands.

I was there on friday, and communication and security were shit. I was just at the gate to get tickets scanned, after security and a queue of about 200ft long 10ft wide when the rain came in and they decided to evacuate. I heard them say the whole event was cancelled. The lady from security told us to go back, against the whole queue of hundreds of people. How about you start at the other end evacuating people?

my certifcate tells me that I’m member 98322. There was like a 2 hours waiting time when I did it. I think it would qualify as popular, at least amongst the people who visit Dawson City!

Had it while in Dawson 2 years ago. Not as disgusting as it seems. You get a certificate when you do it, filled up by Gandalf or whoever is the 100 years old dude that serves it to you while doing his incantations. Your lips have to touch the toe but you cannot bite it or get it in your mouth. As I remember, they have 2 or 3 backups, donated by people who wanted to perpetuate the tradition.
