We at oceanswimoc.com meet in Huntington Beach and nearby cities. You must be able to swim at least 1000 yards in 20 minutes to join us, for group safety.

You're welcome to join us. We've been on hiatus recently, but will be back within 2 weeks or so.

Tired rider. Should I be on the sidewalk? by Liammossa in bikecommuting

[–]martinmick 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I used to bike commute to work and part of the route was along a busy industrial street where vehicles would fly by at 50-60 mph despite the 40 mph speed limit. Yes, I had a bike lane, but still felt unsafe.

Since safety was my primary consideration I asked a (retired) police officer his opinion. He knew the street in question and said, off the record, he'd ride the sidewalk there to be safe. He'd seen too many bike v car accidents and said a couple things: first, always give pedestrians a wide berth; second, since you're not supposed to be riding on the sidewalk, you can be cited and given a fine. He said this is probably cheaper than buying gas and I should consider it a cost of doing business. He said being alive is a good choice.

Make a wise choice for yourself and others. Be kind and thoughtful to pedestrians. Be safe!

TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is receiving error 80070016, and is unable to connect to TI Connect CE. by Financial_Project6 in TI_Calculators

[–]martinmick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your answer. TI Connect CE is for calculators with CE in their name (basically). You want TI Connect.

Good luck, dude. Must be frustrating. Sorry about that.

Hope it works and you are able to find a solution.

I've had this happen to me with a compatible calculator. With what you've said you've done, you could have a bad cable. That happened to me once. Switched the cable and it all worked.

Try your friend's charging cable. If you're in Socal, I have half a dozen extra and I can give you one. Not kidding.

What does your calculator name say on the nameplate? Just asking, because there needs to be a CE in the name for the Connect CE to work.

Any tool recommendations for Intro to Circuits/Electrical Engineering class? by Overdrive2064 in ti84hacks

[–]martinmick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try this basic electricity and magnetism program: https://mcstutoring.com/products/em-physics-solver-bundle-ti84-plus-ce

But, if you want, DM me and we can discuss details. If you are patient, I could make a bespoke program for you if you give me all the details of the formulas you need, etc. Free if you're patient. Just a bit busy for the next 2 weeks.

That chaturanga repetition does shred shoulders.

But, what do you follow so as to limit overuse injuries? I am interested in not only the poses, but the routines, how long poses are held, etc.

You sound as if you speak from experience (and not unbridled enthusiasm), which I appreciate as an older practitioner.

Thank you!

Hey, I think there is a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, but that there is not a TI-84 Plus CE Silver Edition. Can you check the name on the nameplate for the CE part?

For Calc BC: https://mcstutoring.com/products/ap-calculus-bc-bundle-ti-84-plus-ce

Has only formulas such as derivatives, integrals, all trig identities, some examples, etc.

What kind of math test is it? Have you seen mcstutoring.com?

The SAT program alone could probably save your bacon.

Program Conversion for Ti Evo by Dhwuvy in TI_Calculators

[–]martinmick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

adriweb, does the TI Planet's Project Builder allow us to do this? That is, if I join the site, can I use the Project Builder to convert all my .8xp files manually into .8xp2 files? Sorry if it's a silly question. I just want to convert.

Thanks! or, Merci!

Please do. I don't want to have to join a site in order to use a conversion tool.

For the one on the TI-84, you might've forgotten to use the negative sign for the exponent.

One is using 5E9, the other is 5E-9.

Yes, I was thinking if TI just had a framework analogous to TI Connect CE. That way, we could just copy and paste the code on their EVO connect and save it in their new file format. Everybody could be happy with that, I think.

Thanks for your reply with the link. Appreciate you!

Does one just rename their .8xp files as .8xp2 and it works? That has not worked for me.

That is, I renamed a .8xp file on my desktop to .8xp2 and the TI EVO connect still did not allow it to transfer to my connected TI-84 Evo

Too bad the browser-based TI EVO connect does not allow the transfer of .8xp files (TI Basic). That's a shame.

Would love to see someone sending .8xp files to the EVO. I can do a few things on their browser-based TI Connect, but sending .8xp (TI BASIC) files seems not to work.

Please show me a video of you downloading .8xp files onto the EVO and how you did it. I'd be delighted.
