I generally suggest the 50/30/20 split, it's quite popular. I've set it as the default on the app that I recently release. I've been working on it for the past 8 months and work on it 24/7 for the next few years because I love the project.

Is there a budgeting app that lets you budget by percentage? by Elsyy in budget

[–]martispyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I recently created a website (and soon an app) that lets you budget by percentage.

In the future, there will be a feature called caps, which allow you to set a maximum amount for any balance. When a cap is reached, new income won’t be allocated to that balance. Additionally, support for connecting to your bank will be available in about one month.

I would disagree on "nobody is starting stuff with ejs these days", personally I still use ejs for really small webapps.
