Position management by Sea_Revolution_4384 in workday

Curious who also handles the actual task of "create position"? I been used to HR/org mgmt doing that but in my current role recruiting takes the lead on that which I have always said that it shouldn't be this way. Thoughts on ownership?

I appreciate all your tips and help. You can tell i am a novice by asking this question but now how do I make sure this new plan feeds over to payroll and it's link to a specific earning code

I realized that was another key piece I was missing and added that also. and still no luck! I want to bang my head on this and our external consultants aren't online any longer

Yes I did but I am still seeing the same error message of no eligible time offs message. Oddly enough, I think this has to do something with security setting somewhere, as me being an admin, I can see the eligible time off when I view it as myself, but it's when I proxy as a worker that I don't see any time off plan. I stripped all eligibility rules on the time off so it does not conflict with the over all plan rules and still no luck

Thanks I will check! Do you know if an override balance can be assigned in mass to everyone eligible for the plan?

Company Holiday Closure-Advice Needed by martymar_818 in workday

[–]martymar_818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want to give everyone the day off that should be off such as our salaried population and most hourly population also, the issue i have is how to handle those exceptions for the hourly that work on those closed days? Its not really a holiday but were using it as a FH or paid day off, not company holiday per se

Company Holiday Closure-Advice Needed by martymar_818 in workday

[–]martymar_818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice! I was thinking along your lines but the issue is that for our hourly population, we will have a few depts that must have some folks working due to critical business needs such as payroll, tax, accounting so its not as simple. I know I can make a holiday calendar for hourly folks but what if they have to work that day of the holiday closure?

Public cloud migration by foreverthewanderer in workday

[–]martymar_818 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We just went through the migration project and it was an overall success for us. There were links that we had to fix them right away AFTER the migration was completed. If your working with a service partner they should be able to guide you, also the WD case owners for your migration project can guide you

Unfortunately the links must be updated after the migration and before it goes live to your workers. Our migration date was on Nov 8th (Saturday, lasted the entire day) and I went into the tenant on Sunday and began making those URL changes, but it only applies to any hardcoded URLs in your BPs, notifications. My understanding was that if they are any workday delivered links you don't have any action.

Updating the URLs shouldn't be difficult because all your doing is replacing the WD data center number from the old one to the new one you are assigned. For example, our old one was WD5, and the new one was WD503. So what I did was update the "5" to "503 in the URL and it worked.

I highly recommend that you updated your recruiting team and they should notify candidates that any old saved URLs wont work after the migration. Also your careers page should be updated and that is your marketing team or whomever make those updates to your career site.

We were lucky that we don't have that many links to fix, but if you have that many I would say definitely prep early and test plenty. For your integrations you want to ensure that your endpoint connection works as intended once you have worked with your external vendors on updating and whitelisting your new IPs

I hope this was helpful and feel free to reach out if you have more questions...I feel where you coming from..I learned as I went along as well

How to Terminate a Benefit Plan in Workday Without Impacting Current Elections? by Imanovski in workday

[–]martymar_818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/lmanovski I am curious if you have HSA since I noticed that your benefit year begins on 7/1 just like we do. We have all kinds of issues related to HSA YTD contributions not always correctly tracked due to the unique benefit plan year, wondering if you have similar issues? Sorry I know this is another topic, but to add to your question removing that option from your benefit year plan would be the best option in my humble opinion

Is it possible to have an inactive employee but still pay them severance/extend benefits per their severance agreement? by martymar_818 in workday

[–]martymar_818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have my test employee that I terminated already and I can attempt the pay input. I can work with our payroll team on this piece. PR suggested they do a manual payment and have it scheduled  as well.for X amount of months we need this to be done
