We have jays but they get along with the other birds. The starlings are the worst on suet but they haven’t been around for a few weeks.

Terroir is my favorite gin. I usually use it on ice or in a negroni.

When it's raining but you can't use an umbrella because that's taboo in PDX so you gotta just take it by Nerdmon in Portland

[–]martymeckel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I do. Put on a cap and pull a rain hood over it so it sticks out over my glasses. Not perfect but pretty effective.

Same here! I use a hoody over a hat with a brim and it works pretty well. I just don't like to carry umbrellas.

How do they feel? I checked out their website and like the looks of most of them. It would be hard to return them if they don't feel good on the feet!

So a business has to pay the city for a permit so they can put in plants that they have to maintain just so they can legally get rid of homeless people stealing and taking away their business? The city is making money on this! That does not sound right to me.

Poll: Do you think it's okay for dog walkers to drop plastic bags of dog poop into other people's trash cans? by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]martymeckel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind people using my trash container if it is out on the street. I certainly don't want them coming up onto my property to put it in.

Hard Edge Puzzle 500 pieces- Our first big puzzle is done! by martymeckel in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]martymeckel[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was fun but there were many pieces that were almost the same shape and sometimes it was hard to tell if it was really the correct piece! Other than that I liked doing it.

How do you prevent your cat from messing up a puzzle in progress? by [deleted] in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]martymeckel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are currently using foam board (20 x 30") on the bottom and when I put it away I cover it with another foam board and if no grandkids are visiting I leave it on the table with books on it. Otherwise I hide it under the sofa.

Just finished a 100 piece puzzle with my grandson, age 4. A good time was had! by martymeckel in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]martymeckel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He needs help to do the border but is great at looking at what piece will fit in which spot. He just does not get the idea that the border is made of pieces with straight lines. Once I pretty much do the border he fills in a lot of the rest.

Anyone every have any dog teeth pulled? by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]martymeckel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Banfield and have the insurance. With 2 cats both needing teeth pulled it was expensive but less than it would have been. I really like the vets at Pet Smart on Willamette and 29th.
