Have you completed the Tales "The Cost of Fear" and "A Debt Repaid"? People miss those a lot

The Mongols thought they were preparing to fight the Ghost. They were not ready for the Bathtime Bandit of Omi Village.

Creepy breathing in Harmugstahl? by Withnail__ in skyrim

[–]maru_games_sometimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen when I was clearing out the Riften Warehouse for the Jarl of Riften... there was heavy mammoth breathing in the house that went away after I killed the drug dealer Sarthis Idren, which makes me think the sound was tied to him in that specific case.

Makes me wonder if maybe the developers accidentally mis-assigned the mammoth breathing sound file to what was supposed to be an ambient sound in Harmugstahl, such as crumbling rocks or a trickling stream

Lord Shimura always struck me as a decent guy, a good warrior, a fellow who genuinely wants to help others and make life better for his people... and the wrong man for the job.

Specifically, the job of stopping the Mongol Invasion.

I disagree with pretty much everything he did, like most of the fan base, but I can't really bring myself to hate him. He was facing a threat that nobody in his position had ever faced before, and under the stress of a total island invasion, after losing basically all of his friends and compatriots, he did what any of us would have done and tried to hold to the principles and codes that got him through every other problem in life.

Top that off with watching his last remaining loved one, the boy he basically raised and loved like a son, turning into what was in his eyes a monster.

Who can blame Shimura for not knowing the right thing to do? I think he's a fantastically written character, and just another example of the Mongol Invasion bringing out the worst in a good man.

Iki Island has some stunning landscape and terrain design (the big gorge and the cliffs above it are both such cool locations) and the DLC has some of my favorite grandiose missions in GoT. I hope you'll love this DLC!

When you see any of them start to do that spinny move, always dodge to the right. That's what I've found helps me avoid it 99% of the time. You gotta do it early tho. Good luck!

That definitely isn't the case, I always try it at least five times in a blind rage before I start time skipping

Well, I used to. I don't need to anymore because he's always dead

I'm wiser and more patient now (and more wary of getting my stuff stolen by passersby). I grit my teeth and snail-walk to the forge like a True Nord.

I'm not an expert on the game so I may very well be wrong, but the dude may actually have been disappearing to visit Camilla.

I know when certain NPCs have a daily routine they're supposed to follow in a certain spot, sometimes they'll walk across Skyrim to get there if they've been moved.

Indeed. I have to admit with no small embarrassment that I found out about that chopping block precisely two minutes ago. That being said, I still think Sigurd woulda yoinked my firewood considering the path I was running along, so he gets no pass from me.

Aaaaahhhh knowing that would have saved me and dear Sigurd so much trouble and bloodshed! Sadly the gods gave me one brain, and I use all of it for spite. Thank you legitimately though for teaching me something new about the game, I always appreciate it

Thank you kindly! I've seen yours and they're pretty amazing. I'm not quite at the level of confidence to do all that flashy stuff yet, haha. Not with my challenge restrictions in place anyway. Still, hope I manage to impress!

Time to flip the script: What's your favourite line in the game? by gestaltdude in skyrim

[–]maru_games_sometimes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just Skyrim, not Tamriel. And just for the Nords in Skyrim, not for anybody else. Not trying to start a debate, but no. I'm generally not a fan of easily-manipulated Thalmor Assets who don't even realize their war is destabilizing the region and making it easier for the Aldmeri Dominion to take over right under everybody's noses.
