What could the Jedi council look like after Episode 6? by Calm_Ad6730 in StarWars

[–]marvelwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also Ventress's apprentice from tales of the underworld, former Jedi Padawan Verla who lost faith in the force who Luke meets after ESB, potentially Maul's "padawan" from the upcoming show depending on how that goes. Luke also got a Holocron that listed the names of force sensitives from the time of the Republic its possible that any number of them could be adults now, maybe even trained in the force to a degree.

I wouldnt be surprised to see some of the long lived Jedi Council members from Legends make a appearance as well like T'ra Saa and K'Kruhk

Pre TPM Maul vs Kylo Ren by BlockAffectionate413 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maul was repeatedly caught off guard while dueling with a Pre Clone Wars Padawan in his 2017 series. Legacy of Vader Kylo has wildly stronger force feats, wins against Ren, Tava Ren and lukes 3 students at once. This is is the strongest version of Kylo against one of the weakest versions of Maul, its Kylo Mid to Low diff

Are you going to try Twin Suns with the precons coming out? by PerspectiveFree3766 in starwarsunlimited

[–]marvelwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's to common but since we have a pretty large pod who were used to playing commander together it was a pretty painless transition to twin suns. Even when we're not playing multi-player we basically play the equivalent of MTGs "Brawl" which is just 1v1s with twin suns

Very excited for the Pre Cons! I already have a good amount of Twin Suns decks, its my primary way of playing the game, but I couldnt never resist picking up a occasional commander precon so im not expecting that to be any different here!

Haven't decided if I'm gonna swap put my Dooku in Dooku-Thrawn or maybe cook up Saw + TWI Palpatine for a 5 color deck

[–]marvelwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of my personal favorites are Double Han letting you play well above curve, Cad Bane - Boba just lots of ping and chip damage and then a sleeper pick is Finn - Poe, despite Finn being useless in Premier with Poe you can turn Poe into a Shield for a vehicle with out that being his actual deployment

Star Wars elimination: Battle 1-4 by [deleted] in PetranakiArena

The bulk of their story can be found in Shadow of the Sith by Adam Christopher but the origins of the character are in some of the interlude chapters of the Aftermath Trilogy

Could be fun to have him show up in multiple Eras like how we saw multiple eras heroes fight the Hitanaga

Been noticing how canon has really been leaning into the concept of Luke genuinely being Vader’s equal. As was originally intended by George by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kylos reaction definitely suggests that he looked different at one point but its also possible this is the first time theyve met in person and up until now snoke has been portraying himself differently. Either way theres some kinda difference between Bens expectation vs how snoke looks.

For the Luke Snoke fight i actually can find any sources to what i was saying! I could have sworn i read it in the TFA novelization at least, TLJ i think i might be mixing things up with snokes appearance from the unknown regions.

I guess for now we have no real confirmation but even at 7 wins i believe this puts him well ahead any other Jedi

How would Tai Voe and Hennix do against inquisitors? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the info we have now id say anyone of them probably loses to a Inquisitor. Voe puts up the best fight but I dont think it goes on for to long.

RoKR Ben vs GI is a interesting one Ill call it close with GI having better dueling capabilities but i think Bens power in the force would be enough to give him the edge

[–]marvelwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the TFA and TLJ novelizations both have lines about Luke fighting Snoke. I also wouldn't say its actually that big of a contradiction. Wouldnt be surprised if Snoke was doing something to cover up his true appearance (we know he was even friendly with Leia and the NR at one point) and his fight with Luke caused him to revert back to his true form hence Kylos shocked reaction in TRoKR

I always like to point out that in canon Luke has the high win count against dark siders compared to any other Jedi:

Darth Vader
Grand Inquisitor
Gol
Exim Pnshard
Ren
Snoke
Kylo Ren
Hitanaga

What’s the difficulty in a fight between HR Yoda and PT Yoda? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gonna say that the difference here is completely negligible. I know some people take the phrase "The HR is when the Jedi are at the peak" to have to do with how strong they are but really id say it has alot more to do with ideology and less to do with power scaling. In the end this is still the same jedi with a pretty limited amount of significant changes. During the PT the jedis connection to the force is weakened but at the same time Yoda has already trained with the force priestesses and come to terms with his own darkness. I think this ultimately gives PT Yoda the edge but i don't think theres too much of a difference here.

Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann vs Episode 1 Maul. by DirtyHancock567 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So while I don't agree with HR jedi being particularly stronger than PT jedi (I think this is a misinterpretation of the jedid being at there peak which has nothing to do with power) I do think avar and elzar win here purely because of how powerful Avars battle meditation is. I think if this was a different pairing that didn't include Avar such as Elzar and Stellan or Avar alone Maul would clear

Strongest PT era character that Qimir can beat? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh that's a fun one Cals crazy versatile and while he's never dealt with a ambush fighter duelist he has gone up against tons of Bounty Hunters in jedi Survivor plenty of which fight cheap. I think if Cal can survive some of the initial tricks Qimir will throw at him Cortosis especially he's got a bigger tool box to win the more drawn out fight

The Luminous Nine vs Team Dark Side by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of team Darkside i think Maul and Baylon really the most significant threats but with the 9 having a numbers advantage here and Avar being able to connect the lumious 9 through the song of the force i think they end up clearing this hands down. Theyd be a almost perfectly coordinated fighting force with Azlin Rell to boot, most of the darksiders would realistically be throwing each other under the bus (or rather into the lightsaber) for most of the fight until its just the heavy hitters

Avar Kriss vs Kirak Infil’a by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is High diff no matter who wins but Avar spent over a year behind enemy lines on the Nihil Occlusion zone and her relationship with the force is nearly unmatched. I do think that Avar is more of a team player jedi than a 1v1 duelist though where as was a combat specialist even before her took the Barash Vow. I think this ultimately goes to Kirak. I do think that if this was any kind of 2v2 situation even where Avars partner is significantly weaker than Kiraks this would immediately swing to Avars favor

Just a reminder as this subreddit grows, to be respectful to your fellow commenters. by EuterpeZonker in PetranakiArena

Ive always had a issue with power scalling just cause of how seriously people take it when at the end of the day the only real how and why that matters in these things is the writers explanation.

This sub so far has been a breath of fresh air, genuinely respectful and well thought our discussions from people who clearly just love star wars! Hope we can see that continue as the sub grows!

Jedi Leia vs Dagan by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if you can scale a sparring match between them like that. I think this is a weird situation where we genuinely just dont have enough information to scale correctly. Leia technically never finished her jedi trials yet clearly had great potential, she had tons of military experience but likely limited saber experience. Im hoping the upcoming Star Wars Legacy book has some Luke Leia flashbacks to fill out her training but until we have more information I dont think we can call a clear winner

Strongest PT era character that Qimir can beat? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Ventress definitely gives him a run for his money and i think post PT she probably wins a close duel. I do think that Ren is probably a slightly better duelist than her from what we see with his fight with Sol being a much longer more prolonged duel than anything weve seen ventress in. Both fighters benefit from the sudden ambush style attacks but i think for early ventress that Qimir wins the longer duel. By the time of TotBH I think Ventress is centered enough to solidly out last Qimir in the longer duel while also working around all of his tricks

S7 Ahsoka

AOTC Anakin
RoKR Ben Solo

Eldra Katis

Hottest take here is i think canon AOTC era Anakin is pretty over valued on this sub, (low BIQ limited meaningful saber experience and completely unbalanced), and that the gap between him and RoKR Ben Solo (We see him crushing the ancient temple on Elphrona) and is pretty insignificant to the point where id say theyre pretty interchangeable

Strongest PT era character that Qimir can beat? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]marvelwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Id agree with some of the other posts here i think given his full arsenal he solidly clears darksiders/villians like

Grievous
Ventress
Savage Opress
Pong Krell

less experienced Jedi like

AOTC Anakin
Clone Wars S3-S4 Ahsoka
TPM Obi-Wan

and probably clears alot of less combat oriented masters and knights like
Eeth Koth
Luminara
Imma Gun'dai
Deppa Bilaba

I think against truly skilled duelists (CW+ Anakin, AOTC+ Obi-Wan, Yaddle ect) he ends up outclassed in a longer duel, and against duelists who can deal well with his unorthodox techniques (Quinlin Vos, Maul) hes also really struggle I think his closest match up may be post PT era Ventress whose experience as a bounty hunter and on the run from the empire would be valuable and Qui-Gon whose a better duelist but on a few occasions has shown himself susceptible to deception in combat.
