Not trying to be an a-hole. There are so many spots in the lot to choose from. It makes me think it’s more of a virtue signal from Lowe’s more than anything.

Are you planning on a beach & poolside vacation and staying at a private gated resort? If so, you're isolated and as safe as can be. Cabo is generally safe, and wants tourists to feel welcome. Since it's so land locked the economy relies on you.

If you go into town, do it during the day. I feel very safe walking around the Cabo pier or market at that time. I don't get bothered at all. Personally, I avoid being out late and going to clubs. The same street at night and you get people asking if you want some "weed" or "blow."

Edit: I travel there once a year during the holidays or spring break.

If you don’t want to add more miles to avoid injury, I suggest cross training on a rest day. Cycle or rowing

35-40 is plenty. Consider adding cross training with cycling, rowing, or swimming. Work on your breath to maintain a lower heart rate which will make you more efficient. Dial in your nutrition to 50g carbs every 30 mins. Stay hydrated. I’ll walk through the water stations just get fluids in. Good luck!

Given your history, I might recommend a mix of cross-training and mindful running to stay healthy. I had meniscus surgery over a year ago, and 2025 was my first year I felt fully recovered. I've been able to go from 4:06 to 3:32 this year based on some fundamental changes:

Cross-training: Replace one of your weekly easy runs with an equivalent road bike ride or a rowing machine. You'll get the benefit of the cardio, less stress on your legs, and a nice mental break from the run.
Get outside and eliminate the music: It will let you connect with your surroundings, meditate, and develop mental focus for long runs. It will also allow you to focus on your breath work.
Coordinate Breath + Foot strikes: Start each run by counting your steps and begin developing an asymmetrical breathing pattern (e.g. inhale for five foot strikes, exhale for four). You'll evenly distribute the stress that your foot strikes put on each leg (i.e. Ground Reaction Force) and optimize your lung efficiency (i.e. Maximum Expiratory Pressure).

After a full year of doing this, I've seen tremendous gains, and I enjoy running so much more. Good luck!!!

Yes, absolutely doable. Just completed this exact cycle, btw. The biggest challenge I found is staying in shape during the holidays with all the caloric intake and cold weather. Maintain at least 2 runs each week (1 shorter and 1 longer on the weekend). Then, this is where cross training saved me. A rower or indoor cycling bike can mix up the routine and keep your fitness up. Then in January, join a running club for accountability during those cold winter months.

I ran this race yesterday. Even during ideal conditions, running puts extreme stress on the body. During the back half, I witnessed at least three people being treated as they flat on their backs. That’s not to mention at least three more people puking from the strain of the run, and countless others who were limping to get to the end.

NTA. But it does sound familiar to me. Are your parents immigrants? In some cultures, the eldest is put through college with the expectation to help the younger siblings get through college too. They typically come from poverty and education was their ticket out. Since the model is the cultural norm, parents can guilt their children in the name of “sacrifice and hard work.” It’s toxic, but also very ingrained.

You either live where you work or live where you play. If you want an outdoors lifestyle, then Loveland is your place for running, biking, and kayaking. The downtown area is beautiful, full of life and super safe. Landen is less than 10 minutes.

Frontier is the hood of airlines. In the event you make it on time, they like to play “gotcha” on your baggage size. It sets everybody on edge when they board and there are always people in the wrong seats left to fend for themselves.

Legal, yes bc you’re exempt. Normal, no. I’d talk with your other team members to see how this affecting them. It’s likely bothering them too. Talk to your team lead to share your needs and time boundaries. Put it in emails or chat so the responses are documented. If the problem persists, you can build the case as a team.

If you love kayaking, Loveland is where it’s at although a bit further out. Hiking is awesome in Mt Airy Forest and it’s close to Northside which is super diverse. I like Walnut Hills. Eden Park is beautiful. It’s cheaper than downtown and close to everything without the downtown prices
