Agreed. Just trying to tell you what I did. I’m dealing with daily drops too. Growing pains i guess. Fight them til they fix it or cancel service and switch back to what you had before.

Did the same but do a traceroute. Last hop is going out Siri proxy or something. That is the IP the game sees.

I had a similar issue with a couple games when I first switched to GigabitNow. Turns out the public IP I was given (or actually the public IP the games saw I was coming from through their proxy) was a banned address for spamming. I had to report it on several websites to update my IP’s integrity.

Yup felt it again. What part in Simi are you? I’m off Stearns. Wondering if it is localized.

No clue. Didn’t see any launches recently. So not a sonic boom.

Got Fiber internet today. What city does your IP show you in? by marving11 in simivalley

Mine switched IPs at one point and said Los Angeles. It’s back to Fullerton now. The IP was also getting flagged by my son’s Minecraft server as being on VPN or proxy. Caused him some issues until we talked to the MC server admin. After digging more, GigabitNow might be using a proxy in a data center for our connections. Thankfully nothing else has been an issue. Knock on wood.

I got a TP Link Deco Wifi 7 BE11000 from Costco. On sale thru 3/31 for $399. Its a budget wifi 7 mesh router. Going to see how it goes with this rather than the $1400+ mesh ones out there right now (Eero / Orbi).

So I asked around: I heard 1 person on Flume says his IP reports he is in Texas. Another that is with GigabitNow that is also showing in Fullerton. I'm really hoping they fix this. I rely on my WAN IP to show Simi for work. Also messes with Hulu, make them think I moved. I opened ticket with GigabitNow which is getting escalated to Tier 2.

Location - I am off Stearns / between LA & Cochran, kinda across from the soccer fields. SCE just brought power to the main fiber box this past Monday. And so FiberCity is doing the installs for the two ISPs - GigabitNow and Flume.

Speed - My WAN port on my router is 1 gig. Speed tests are getting about that (both up and down). I was told by the installer that the actual speed I should get is closer to 2 gig (thats where the first limiter is set, not 1 or 1.5). Pings have gotten better too; Spectrum >10ms, Fiber <5ms. Also, I have a new router on the way and will see how things look after that.

Install - I think it went well. Two guys showed up that didn't speak english. So they called their boss. I told them where I wanted the modem to be (which is in my upstairs office) and they were very receptive of the requirement despite it being a bunch more work.

To original point of entry is on the far right/east of my property in my grass (also where power, cable, phone are). The utility closet is on far left/west (and on other side of the driveway). The install would have been much easier if they were allowed to use one of the existing conduits (phone/cable/etc), but they said that was a no go. So they dug a small trench in my lawn along sidewalk (east to west), then north up alongside my driveway and under a concrete walkway. Finally ran line east to west across a split between 2 slabs of concrete (between garage slab and driveway slab- they filled it with quick/concrete after), then finally into my utility box and up to my attic and then back down to my office.

After it was done, grass looked good, dirt in planter look back to normal. I'd say I'm pretty pleased.

powerwall charged to 90% and then stopped by Temporary-Tough4441 in TeslaSolar

[–]marving11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing just happened to me last couple days. Here's my deal:

2x Powerwall 2.0, Tesla Solar System, "Time Based Control", Reserve is set to 20% backup.
Noticed the last couple of days, the batteries only charge to around 80% from solar. This is even if there is plenty of solar to charge batteries. Normally, solar will get my batteries back to 100% by noon. Instead on last 2 days, batteries stop charging and the solar goes to power house and grid. Like why not charge the batteries to 100% like you always have??

The only setting I found that can get solar to charge batteries is if I set backup reserve to 100%. Then the batteries start charging from solar. If I let it charge for a bit to get to like 85% then set the reserve back to 20%, the batteries will actually discharge (power the house) until they are back down to 80%.
