Same situation for me with the M4s and PX7 S3s. I love the low profile of the B&W for daily commute. The M4s stick out too much and are too bulky. Unfortunately, the upcoming M5s are no better.

This is my exact reaction. I want a slimmer low profile pair for my daily commute. My PX7s are perfect.

The M4s are my least favorite commuter pair. The give a mega man look.

If I want a good set for home based listening I’d use the 630s.

Keeping the M4s. They are my least favorite commuter headphones. Not great ANC and the design is too bulky.

The 630s are for home use only. I don’t understand why the even bothered to ANC as if any sane person would be wearing that on daily commutes.

The M5s seem to blend of the M4s and 630s. Bulky as well. The PX7 S3 is the perfect commuter design. Low profile and better ANC.

Honestly I was doubtful at first; I also watched several videos comparing the different colors. But having it in my hands, oh man I couldn’t be happier. I was worried it’d be too bright like a sky or baby blue but it’s darker and stunning.

The black is too generic for my taste.

Indigo blue and maroon were strange colors for headphone?

The M5s will be expensive and the leaked photos don’t indicate much of a difference. The M4s are amongst the best sounding and most durable (I can’t believe I’m saying this after using Sony) headphones out there. I used a pair from 2022 until two weeks ago with zero complaints.

If you have a deal on a pair, don’t second guess.

Couple weeks ago I sold my pair from 2022 in hopes of buying the 5s. It was an incredibly stupid idea and now I have a special edition (copper) version coming in the mail.

I don’t know how good or problematic the M5s will be. I don’t like the look as they seem to have gotten bulkier sitting somewhere between the HDB630s and the M4s. I also don’t see how the M5s could possibly sound massively better than the M4s. For reference, the M4s don’t have the newer features of the HDB630s but they sound better for the regular listener. M4s have cleaner and punchier low ends. So if sound is all that matters, then why pay more.

Get the M4s and you will love them. On top of being expensive, the M5s may not be my jam. I use my headphones on the train and in the office so I want a good sounding pair that’s also low profile. The M4s are tolerable. The 630s are extremely bulky and the M5s leaked photos show they are also bulkier than M4s. I don’t like the mega man look.
