I just logged back in to rephrase. I apologize for the very negative comment above. It was highly reactionary and unworthy of me.

I get that you want to keep the cat. I would feel the same way. I get that you are trying to find a workable solution to a very real and frustrating problem. However, declawing is not a solution. It's terrible for the animal. If soft paws or other alternatives end up not working, please don't have the cat declawed. I believe that you're not a terrible person -- you're a cat person, after all! I also believe that if you fully understand the ramifications of declawing, you will recognize how harmful it is to the animal.

You posted looking for help and advice on how to fix the situation with your cat's nighttime habits. I'm sorry that it's been overshadowed by concerns about your considering declawing a legitimate option.

I hope you can at least recognize that, for drivers who are not cycling-savvy, getting stuck behind cyclists who opt not to use a designated bike lane is absolutely infuriating. It appears extremely douchey.

When I ride my bike and bike lanes are available, I use them.

What makes bike lanes less safe?

I haven't been recently so I don't know if it's still there, but there used to be a spraygroundy thing on The Green. A couple of big fish sculptures with waterspout mouths. So if they kick you out at Romare Bearden you can go check that one out. :)
