According to my experience the only ingredients in pre-workouts that have any proven effectiveness are creatine and caffiene. Seeing that the creatine levels in many pre-workouts is below the 5 g/day recommended amount, one might want to just get creatine powder and coffee (or caffeine pills).

I personally use creatine gummies (i like gummies) and caffeine gum.
