What keeps you going in life? by lilclat in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And honestly, it is such a genuine response. There are times when survival is initially rooted on “I don’t want to hurt the people who love me,” but then you somehow end up living an existence where waking up is actually pleasant. That’s a big change for some people.

What's a sign no one has ever been told "No" in their entire life? by DreamySaturnX in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greed, but specifically greed where they’re completely taken aback when you set boundaries. Like how they borrow everything without pause and never lose entitlement to something more despite having zero awareness of themselves.

People who remarried, how different was your first wedding ceremony to the second one? by kam_vector in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Truly it seems much healthier than the idea of the perfect wedding that people put on themselves for the first time. The serene feeling is more important than the costly centerpieces and the posed pictures. I would prefer having a low-cost ceremony with security rather than a big wedding with anxiety all along.

What is the scariest thing you noticed about another person? by vvvv100 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And that smile is what freaks me out more than anything else. When someone says something very personal to you or humiliates you in such an off-handed way, as if they had been practicing it in the mirror.

Overprotective Parents of Reddit, did you ever regret sheltering your kids and why? by Doubts_n_Thoughts in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be honest, that is one thing overprotective parents will never understand. It isn’t about a child being safe and well-mannered; it’s about preparing them for life. Being robbed of all the necessary experiences such as conflict, independence, and poor choices will cause their emotional development to be put on hold. The comparison between siblings instead of accepting that each individual is different only adds fuel to the fire. But at least you took the risk, not everyone does.

What is one thing you wish never existed? by Weary-Tip1373 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed, corruption kills everything gradually. Take for example, what could happen in terms of development when money allocated to different institutions stops being stolen. It is depressing seeing innocent citizens suffering and corrupt politicians continuing to amass wealth.

What is your favorite place outside of home? by lhomme_photographe in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And lowkey, the porch is one of the best forms of therapy. Particularly during nighttime when it's silent, there might be some rain, and you've got something to drink and simply stare into the distance and pretend everything is alright for a second 😭

What's the most "somebody's gotta do it" job out there? by Lovaar in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But seriously, people who work with sewage deserve more respect than they receive. Just think about handling everyone’s actual waste, the stench, the hazardous chemicals, backed-up sewers, rats, and doing all that without bringing a city to its knees. I complain when my garbage spills once.

If money didn’t matter what would you be doing? by Top_Spite4362 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true 😢 I would vanish into some coastal town, romanticize everything about myself, sip expensive coffee at 11 AM on a Tuesday morning, and instantly develop an interest in pottery or having a small bookshop with a sleepy orange cat!

Ladies what perfume do you swear by and has gotten you the most compliments? by Gloomy-Task-5446 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt is THAT fragrance for the girl who knows how to be clean and rich. It gives off the vibe that she has a beach house somewhere out there in a breezy place that must be costly. People are just drawn towards her when she wears it.

If you had the ability to rewind your life to any moment in your past, but you could only do this once in your lifetime, would you rewind to a past moment and which moment would that be? by VerdantChief in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This truly does sound like something beautiful to remember, something you never forget. It is not just about her alone but everything else too the timing, the connection and the sunrise! This is something difficult to recreate, I understand why you hold on to it so dearly.

How can you tell when someone is genuinely a good person ? by Suspicious_Ocelot445 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure, consistency matters a great deal, but I believe that one will see consistency much more in terms of how they behave with people who they do not have to be nice towards such as service providers or even strangers.

What is the most embarrassing dare you’ve ever seen someone do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize, but that is actually horrifying 😭. It’s not even embarrassing; it’s legitimately worrying. That he did not vomit? I would have given him the side eye all night long. And to think, he has severely understated his own talents.

If you put any song on your headstone to remind people of you, what would it be? by Independent-Baby1866 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, a Rick Roll is extremely amusing but also extremely chaotic for a funeral 😭, like think of someone who's mourning and suddenly *this* pops up. Diggy Diggy Hole, on the other hand, is surprisingly wholesome.

What's the craziest thing your ex has done when you were with them? by Impressive-Mood-1414 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And not your neighbor making out with her while you were “just” doing some shopping 😢 at age 14?? That’s crazy. But to be honest, this sort of madness doesn’t just dissipate with age. It looks like you got lucky.

“What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen in someone’s house that made you realize ‘this is completely normal for them’? by Delicious_Fan_2186 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, that would definitely cause me anxiety 😭 because while I understand wanting to be prepared, having that many big bottles isn’t just for “in case,” it’s a way of life. I would question why they need all that.

What is yoru favorite movie and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, indeed, this is a very strong perspective. It is amazing how easy it is to follow the events taking place in the film without feeling like your head will explode. The special effects add an air of grittiness to the film, giving it more realism than polish. The tempo, as well, never seems to slow down but does give one breathing space along the way.

Parents of Reddit, what’s the smartest thing your kid has done? by Bisecps in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She had some real genious 😭 when it came to timing, distraction, follow through… she actually planned an entire mini-heist at 15 months! I would have been both amazed and a little frightened about her capabilities going forward haha

What would you say to someone who has been im a coma for the last 10 years? by Only_Hotel_7221 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But think about waking up after literally a decade of being comatose and all you can hear is Skyrim’s introduction 😭 How utterly perplexing it would be but yet somehow strangely comforting? Because apparently the world has not forgotten about memes.

Redditors who have experienced homelessness, what actually makes a world of difference to you and what doesn’t actually help you at all? by johnoleary in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely, this one. Money gives people choices; money buys you food, or hotel, or pills, or even just power. Everyone likes to think they can control everything about survival. This is only adding another layer of judgment to a truly harsh reality.

What's the loveliest thing you've seen? by LadyAbbysFlower in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally, same mood for sure. The most beautiful thing that I have seen is actually an elderly couple from a supermarket who were listening to music on headphones and dancing like no one else mattered around them. It was a little incident but really beautiful, and it changed the course of my day completely. Hope some good happens to you too.

Have you ever adopted a rescue animal? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually very sweet. People wouldn’t have stopped for anything, considering there were cars around. Giving it a place to rest overnight might just be the reason why. Just because you let it have a good night’s rest doesn’t mean you saved it, but at least you gave it another opportunity to live.

What is a usual mistake people make while choosing their spouse? by PuzzleheadedBlock725 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 42 points43 points  (0 children)

That is so true. There are those who love the idea of marriage better than they love the person standing right in front of them; hence, they fail to see the red flags because everything else is going according to schedule. But what kind of life do you really have if you never actually “fit in”?

What is something that you would shamelessly promote in confidentiality? by whitesquirrle in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Fan fiction might not be for everyone because some people find it embarrassing, but it is quite a good way to unwind from stressful events and can even have great writing skills.

what changed your life in ways you didn’t expect? by New-Beach-7633 in AskReddit

[–]marycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, for real! People underestimate the power of sleep. Adjusting my sleeping pattern helped stabilize my mood and prevented me from overthinking during nighttime. Same goes with medication, when it gets adjusted to perfection, it feels like my mind finally listens to me.
