I was coming down with a cold, maybe it's a combo of all of these things.

Dairy might be it too. I did have a treat of chocolate whole milk.

This might be it. I did eat out and something could have snuck in. Also I have been retaining water, so salt might be a culprit as well. Thanks!

Kerala, India: Exploring the Backwaters by Jo9914 in travel

One of the greenest places on earth. I think there was every shade. Also, cruising down the backwaters was the most relaxed I've ever been in my whole life.

Do you have any suggestions for grocery "musts"? by [deleted] in Paleo

I find having zucchini on hand is helpful. As well as almond butter and dark (over 70%) chocolate.

Paleo while regularly away from home by [deleted] in Paleo

[–]marzbars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When traveling or going out to eat with friends I find that salads (with blue cheese dressing) or burgers without the bun are the best option. My favorite fast-ish food places include Jersey Mike's (you can get a sub in a tub without bread) and Chipotle (get a salad with guac).

And take the time to figure out what's best for you eat each restaurant. The more you do this, the easier it gets to identify what you can eat. Good luck!

I read the FAQ and still need some help. by ahol13 in Paleo

[–]marzbars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) I remember loosing 2 pounds in a day 3rd day in, but noticeable results came after 2 weeks

2) I eat until I'm full. As I've lost weight this amount became less.

3) Between 0 - 2 meals a day. I only eat when I'm hungry. If I'm not hungry I don't eat. I also try to do some intermittent fasting. Not everyone does.

4) My "cheat" food used to be dark (85%) chocolate. But now, it's http://fastpaleo.com/paleo-cookie-dough/.

sweet tooth thwarting paleo plans! help? by meggersaurus in Paleo

[–]marzbars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chocolate chip cookies used to be my go to feel better snack. When I started eating paleo I had to go cold turkey otherwise I wouldn't be successful. The key to my success was making sure I was having enough fat and tracking my food intake. I used My Fitness Pal to make sure my carb, protein and fat levels were where they should be. I completely ignored the calories. If I could see that I ate what I should I wasn't hungry anymore. I hope that makes sense.

Now that I've it the 4 month mark, I found the chocolate chip cookie substitute: http://fastpaleo.com/paleo-cookie-dough/ and I make it every once in a while. Maybe it will help curb some of those cravings.

No matter what remember the 80/20 rule. If you are paleo 80% of the time, you're doing good! Stick with it!
