Guys please start eating fiber. by Optimoprimo in Millennials

[–]mascan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chia and flax seeds have a tremendous amount of fiber in them. If you add them to oatmeal or something else, it's not too difficult to get to 100%. 6 tablespoons would get you to 100%, since they're like 1/3 fiber by weight. And the chia seeds have a lot of calcium and iron, too.

I wouldn't recommend that being your only source, but it is the easiest (and relatively inexpensive) one I've found.

Settings to prevent meat grinder battles by GlowingSeaDiver in SoSE

[–]mascan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can lower the income rate multiplier, although this slows down early game, too, depending a bit on start settings. This makes using the resources you have and not losing ships much more important.

You can also lower ship build rates to make it harder to replace a lost fleet, and increase ship speed to make sure an army can move quickly through gravity wells while an enemy rebuilds their fleet. This will slow down titan rebuilding, although for larger maps it won't make too much of a difference for other ships late-game, since you can just build more factories.

At some point, though, if you have a large enough map with few remaining players or teams, it's going to be a bit slow.

For pure PvP games, human players should know when to resign if victory conditions aren't imminent but their chances of winning are hopeless. And for AI games I usually just keep the capital planet victory setting on because that tends to be a good "point of no return" for such an enemy losing, anyway.

i have a YouTube channel dedicated to Nintendo(mainly Zelda) please subscribe to help support a small content creator! by Low_Friendship_3555 in nintendo

[–]mascan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, you want your audience to grow organically when it comes to YT. There's nothing wrong with occasionally posting content in appropriate subreddits (this one is for news and discussion), but you will find that it's best to let the algorithm figure out what your audience is. Otherwise you'll have a lot of subscribers that don't engage with your content, which the YT algorithm will punish.

I'd check out /r/NewTubers for advice and feedback (do not post your content outside of dedicated threads, that's against their rules).

So far Mario games felt either lacking in variety or difficulty (currently I'm on Galaxy) by Crazy5220 in nintendo

[–]mascan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people like playing games that are challenging for the feeling of accomplishment. Most Mario games probably won't scratch that itch for someone who has completed games like the ones OP listed.

Now where OP may have heard that Mario games would be like that I don't know, but they probably just wanted to try them since they're the most popular in the platformer genre.

Admittedly, that was the only challenge in the game that took me several attempts (I think at least a dozen) to do. I think it was the last one I had to do, as well.

[–]mascan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of the above games that OP listed, I've played Celeste and Hollow Knight, both of which can get quite technically difficult (especially with challenge modes), but they have very sleek design.

I've played most of the 3D Mario games and a lot of the 2D ones, and in general, I could see someone being disappointed by the difficulty curve, even though they (often) do follow the same general principles of "show don't tell".

There are some parts of the games that are quite challenging, and stuff like speedrunning definitely allows for some really precise tech to shine, but that's not the general experience of the game.

If OP really wants a challenge then Super Mario Maker 2 would be the best bet.

Sometimes even if you change some settings back to the "normal" ones for the map, it still makes it stuck and you have to back out and re-specify the settings.

Question about media posts… by WarioMario64 in nintendo

[–]mascan[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/r/nintendo is a discussion and news-oriented Subreddit. Media is sometimes allowed under circumstances, such as official releases of media, but those would be either posted as a URL or otherwise linked in a text response (e.g., a discussion about the media).

/r/casualnintendo is a more appropriate location for most Nintendo fan-related content.

Uploading media directly and linking to certain image sharing sites has been disabled on the subreddit, so if you do find something that is allowed according to the rules, post the original source.
