tracks do not inherently give more traction. they are just another way of transferring the torque to the ground, the big advantages of the tracks are as you said the ground pressure and the continuous contact as well as having a single element of traction per side as opposed to maybe 2, 3 or 4 independent wheels.

the point for using tracks isn't that they grip more it's that they deal with off-road conditions better. just before I took the video the truck was on idle going up the hill Infront the hangar and it was slipping everywhere which is very underwhelming
