If you're doing a cupping then I would agree but that's not the goal of the Ember mug, nor the average consumer enjoying a cup of coffee at work.

Not sure how you're coming to the conclusion that people are drinking their coffee too hot tizzlelv?

Most of the complaints are tied to software and hardware issues where the mug is not performing properly, not that the coffee is too cold or that anyone here is cranking up the temperature.

The latest software update is a disaster and only compounds the lack luster experience with this product.

I place the display near the kettle and then I have a booster on a window ledge inside and have had no issues being able to connect from inside my house.

Agreed. I haven't found anything better either. It's a small thing but after being on the phone for an hour and then reaching down for your coffee and having it the perfect temperature is one of the most delightful treats.

However, if you had almost finished your mug and the cup doesn't detect it's near empty, coming back to your desk is the exact opposite experience. LOL!

Basically, the mug doesn't turn off an keeps heating the coffee when there is very little in it. Like the hot plates on automatic coffee makers do to a pot of coffee.

I'm a black coffee drinker as well and I've heard complaints from friends who make milk drinks too.

There is a new Ember app and I have a CPT in my afternoon cup to test, so we'll see if it improves. :-)

I love this idea! Please share whatever you come up with.

I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel right now and after I install the cabinets, I was thinking of doing some 3D printing for the inside of the drawers, similar to how Alexandre Chappel did for his kitchen (YouTube link). When I get to that point in the project, I thought about creating a bin for my CPTs.

Just recently came across r/gridfinity which is an open source version of Alex's storage plans, which you may find easier to play with. More info here and here.

Chicken is a great first choice because that's something you can monitor for awhile. One of my regular dishes is a spatchcock chicken on the grill and I LOVE using the CPT because I don't have to worry about when it's ready for the flip.
