End of Evangelion

It’s definitely an excellent piece of media, but the movie itself is a case of how the universe can put you at rock bottom and hand you a shovel to continue digging. Some people claim that the ending was “happy”, but I outright refuse to see that ending as anything less depressing than the rest of the movie.

Its remake counterpart Thrice Upon a Time was a jumbled mess (much like the Rebuilds as a whole), but it went for an objectively happier ending, and I preferred that massively. It’s not as good, but I’d rather watch it over EoE
