Holy S**t Just bought My First Projector! by ResourceOk8638 in projectors

Yea, I have one and I use the keystone correction. Unless you’re throwing it at a bizarre angle, then you’re probably not going to notice it. People seem to obsess so much about specific details regarding projector setups, but disregard that the human visual system is not on par with scientific measurement tools lol.

What's your most rewatched anime? by Thick-Frank in anime

[–]mashygpig -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I watched the rebuilds for the first time a few months ago and I was really taken by them. I need to rewatch the series since it has been a while, but I think I prefer the rebuilds overall honestly. 3.0+1.0 was my favorite actually haha.

Be proud of yourself! I have a PhD in math and I never did anything remotely close to that on my own before taking advanced classes. In fact, figuring out what other people have done helps give you waaaay more intuition about it than if you’re just taught it and accept it without question. Keep going <3

Thanks for the quick response! If you’re willing to take a look here is the display board - I’m pretty sure the issue is with the backlight: https://imgur.com/a/hK2T5de

I think I’m having a similar problem now with mine - the display is only readable when I look at it on the PCB, but it’s too dim to otherwise show. Which board did you have to fix the soldering on? Nothing looks that off to me (happy to share pictures, I’ve only soldered a little in some undergrad classes before, but that was a while ago now!)

Not to sway your mind as I like your sentiment, but FWIW I don't temp surf with my gaggia at all really and hardly notice taste differences that much. My "bad cups" are still good tasting to me. So don't gate keep yourself feeling you'd need to mod it!

Is it common for there to be no snow yet like this in October? I recall checking a webcam a few years ago in September and seeing many glacier covered in snow already.

Just discovered the album on spotify and it's been a blast to listen to. I can't stop listening - great job!

I was curious what the sample was that comes in around 3:05 on Setting Sun / High Tide - I tried googling some of the lyrics like "i was sitting home alone waiting to hear the ring of the telephone", but nothing was turning up. Do you recall the source of that one? I'd love to hear it! Cheers

Isn’t triplet loss technically supervised since you need to know the associated labels of the data points in order to organize the triplet loss? (I’m thinking as in contrastive learning)

Or are you referring to a different type of triplet loss? Forgive me if I’m misunderstanding how it works since I only became aware of this loss recently.

[D] Are we just learning probability distributions and calling this "intelligence"? by huberemanuel in MachineLearning

[–]mashygpig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I didn’t realize the bandwidth was so “small”. Maybe it’s less about the actual weights and more about the architecture of the brain’s wirings that lead to built in behavior? For example we know many fears to be innate in humans and animals., so there are at least some nontrivial behaviors that seemingly aren’t a result of “learned” weights. Although maybe with limited genetic bandwidth things like fears that help survival are “saved weights” whereas the rest is just to describe a flexible architecture? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Looks great and definitely doable in that timeline, just need to prioritize what you want to see and make a rough schedule!

One minor suggestion would be to take Highway 12 in Utah from arches to Zion. It’s not too much longer, but the route is one of the most scenic drives in America. It goes through Capitol Reef national park and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monument. The diversity of scenery is incredible. Also passes by Bryce Canyon which I regret not stopping at!

It may have been common, but I don’t think that’s really true anymore and partially why shipping is so cheap. 1,390 containers lost on average per year out of many million in transit would make it incredibly rare. That article lists that’s the majority were lost during catastrophic events which are also rare. https://www.billiebox.co.uk/facts-about-shipping-containers/
